George Warner Jr., is a descendant of a very old family in Bucks County, and is collaterally related to many well-known residents of this county. On both sides he traces his ancestry to Benjamin Taylor, a native of this county, who father was on of the English Friends who came here in the latter half of the 17th century. Of the date of Benjamin Taylor's birth, there is no record, but he married Hanna Towne in 1719. A daughter of the couple also named Hanna, was married to William Field in 1755, and died 1815, and their daughter, Letitia, became the wife ofWilliam Warner, on 1/4/1803. This William Warner, was the grandfather of George Warner, and was the son of Abraham Warner, who, in the 12mo., 1768, was married to Ann Yardley. The exact date when the Warner family first came to this county is unknown, but it was probably about the same time as the Taylors. We would like to invite you to re-visit our website, The POORHOUSE STORY (a clearinghouse for information about 19th century American poorhouses) at http://www.poorhousestory.com We have just published another postcard photo of the alms house in NORTHAMPTON County. The page now takes some time to download because we have 3 images posted. If anyone has any further information about this poorhouse, we would appreciate hearing from you. DIRECTIONS: At the homepage (link above) click on POORHOUSES BY STATE, then on PENNSYLVANIA on the table of states, and finally on NORTHAMPTON on the table of counties. If you have been to the website recently you may have to click REFRESH or RELOAD on the browser to see the new information. There are other pages on the site which may give you some interesting perspective on poorhouses. They are off the homepage and include: the HISTORY page and the LETTER TO GENEALOGISTS (which explains why you might climb over your own "brick walls" at the poorhouse. There are great tips for researching poorhouse records for yourself on the RECORDS page; and you might want to subscribe to our (almost) monthly newsletter (which you can do in the lower right corner of the homepage). The information on our site will only grow through the submissions of generous readers. If you would like to e-mail me ... please do so off-list because I cannot maintain subscriptions to as many lists as we post messages on. (You can use an e-mail link off one of our web pages.) We hope you enjoy the site! Thanks, Linda Crannell (aka=The Poorhouse Lady)

Corrected error in first message and added some info, about land he sold. I believe this person is my GGG Grandfather. Had incorrdect year for his birth on previous request.. His son, also named Ludwig, was born in 1786 Ludwig Mensinger born 28 Mar.1746, Eppingen Germany. Son of Leonhard Mentzinger- Mensinger See Page 255 Burgert - Northern Kraichgau Vol 1 Eighteenth Century Emigrants. In the deed book he sold some land Jan 30, 1787 to John Probst of Albany Township, Berks Co. for 137 pounds. Says Ludwig was a blacksmith in Penn Township. His name is also spelled Mentzinger. He was granted the land in1779 by George Daubenspeck. He is listed as a witness 2-12-1789. Ludwig was taxed, in 1785, on 150 acres in Penn Twnshp, Northampton County. (Mentzinger was his grandfather, Martin's family name before it was Anglisized by Ludwigs father Leonhard/Leonhart.) Member Northampton Co Militia Company 2, Third Battalion Northampton Co. Militia 1778, 7th Class I need information on his Wife and Children. Everything!! The items above constitute what I know now.. I believe he is the father of my paternal, GG Grandfather, Ludwig Mensinger born 1786. (According to the 1850 census, For Beaver Township, Columbia County. (I know positively that Ludwig 1786 is my GG Grandfather since I have a copy of a Taufenshein for the birth and Baptism of my G. Grandfather Johann/John Mensinger b 1811..) Lee J. Mensinger Born in North Union Township, Schuylkill County. Any leads and assistance will be greatly appreciated Lee M
