    3. Carol, I have been researching land records in Williams Township and have run across a Jacob Dech (alternate spelling Teigh). A warrant to survey land was issued for him in 1748, and he received by patent 83 acres astride the border of Williams and Lower Saucon Townships in 1752. According to Northampton County deed F1-683, Jacob and his wife Elizabeth sold the land in 1758. This land was in Bucks County until 1752, when Northampton County was erected. Michael married Anna Catherine Sassamann. I now believe Michaels's parents were Anthony (Antoni) Dech and Catherine Gress. Anthony died about 1791 leaving 4 sons. Catherine's father, Michael Gress petitioned the orphans court to get guardians for them. Jacob Dech became guardian for Michael. Could Jacob have been Anthony's Brother? There must be some relationship. As I live in Missouri, it would be difficult for me to visit PA again any time soon. If any one can help I would greatly appreciate it. 3. This is in response to Geri's posting yesterday for Subject -Re: MAJOR Rev. Geri mentions: "Mrs. McIlhaney was born in Lower Mt.Bethel, Dec 18, 1823. Her grandfather Edward Major and her father, James C. Major. James C., married Miss Hester Bitters, d/o John and Mary Ney, the former from Germany. " John and Mary Ney (actual spelling is Neigh) are my 5th greatgrandparents. Their daughter, Mary Neigh, married Arnold Bitters of Germany. The Hester Bitters mentioned in Geri's posting is probably the same Esther Bitters, daughter of Arnold Bitters and Mary Neigh Bitters and the granddaughter of John and Mary Neigh. Even with this confusion, the posting will still provide leads for researching in the Neigh/Bitters line. Thanks Jan of North Carolina
