    3. Hi, the name has been traced to Tancred le Balyard, who was commander-in-chief of the army of Chlodwig, King of France, about the year 500. The name Tancredin old French, meant "many wound or scars" and it said the time of his death was about 524. He married Yutts de Mezierers and had two sons, Hugo and he died as the Archbishop of Mailand, and Alfred, who became a soldier. Alfred Balyard married Amelie Chateau Roux. He had two sons Franz and Reynald, whose descendant lived in France until about 1066, when the majority of the went with Duke William, of Normandy to England and settled in the county of Sussex. Gualthar Balyard remained in France and married Undine de Perigord. An active soldier, he met his death in the first Cruade, at the storming of Jerusalem. The family flurished in Levant and when the Crusades were over about 1280, a Bertrand Balyard returned to France and was made Lieutenant of Burgundy. Actually, getting "all upset," while most understandable, is just the effect stupid, immature people such as this want. Agreed, better to "ignore and delete," rather than respond in any way.

    3. Terry --- There was a Jacob Hartzell living in Lower Mount Bethel Township in Northampton County. He was aged 28 and living with a Samuel Hartzell, age 23, and a Sophia Hartzell, age 25. Samuel and Jacob were farming (looks like this --- the enumerator's handwriting was not good). Since they were listed in that order I would guess Sophia was not Jacob's wife. There was another Jacob Hartzell in the index living in Easton Burough but it did not have a link to the actual page. No Jacob Hartzels listed in the index. 1. [PANORTHA-L] Joseph KELLER/KELLAR & Sarah WHITMAN/WHITEMAN (early-1800s)
    2. Looking for the marriage of Joseph Keller/Kellar and Sarah Whitman/Whiteman, and any further early information on the family, parents, etc. I have looked at various other Northampton and Luzerne Co. KELLER families, but haven't found a connection yet. I haven't found any suspects for Sarah's parents. Joseph was born abt 1812, Sarah was born abt 1816, both in Easton, Northampton Co. I estimate that they were married around 1830, probably in Northampton Co. They moved to Luzerne Co. by 1840. They had nine children: Isabella, Susannah, Cinderella, George Washington, Zachary Taylor, Joseph A., Harry F., Frank P., and Emma L. 1836 (11 Jul): Daughter Susannah "Susan" born in Northampton Co., PA. 1840: KELLER, Joseph.
