Hi all, I'm new to this group, and even quite new to genealogy.Amresearching my husband's Grube line. Does someone, maybe Geri, know the parents of Elizabeth Felker, b.1814, d.1871, marr. John Grube and buried at Williams Yard? I can't understand why I can't findher parents' names. Of course, it's a little more difficult since I live in Calif, and don't have access to the church records that I found when I was there in PA . I couldn't copy everything and now feel frustrated. Thanks for any help.RobinGrube

I believe this error arose from the will of his son John Henry Kleppinger in which he made bequests to his wife's brother's and sisters. The correct relationship is found in a deed from heirs the Fredr Nagle to John Dreisbach.[Northampton Co. PA Deed Bk. C3, 346- 347]: This deed names the following George Nagle of Allen Twp. Mary Klepinger, widow of Henry Klepinger, decd., of Allen Twp. John Dreisbach of Lehi Twp.& Mary Catherine his wife Conrad Soldt, miller, of Penn Twp. and Elizabeth Margaret his wife Frederick Nagel of Allen Twp. Jacob Soldt of Towamesing Twp. and Mary Elizabeth, his wife John Nagle, cordwainer, of Allen Twp. The deed goes on to say identify "the said George, Mary Catherine, Elizabeth Margaret, Freiderick, Mary Elizabeth and John as "the children and heirs of Frederick Nagle deceased." The deed also mentions Christian Nagel, another son of Frederick Nagel, who had been found non copos mentis. Also, John Nagel married Regina Heller. That is established in her father's will, as I recall. I do not have a copy of it. Johnann George Nagel married Maria Catherina Kleppinger. They are buried at Hanover Green Cem. in Wilkes-Barre. Unfortunately, I do not have proof that "Caty" (the name on the tombstone) was in fact a Kleppinger. If you have a source for that I would very much appreciate it. I am a descendant of Friederich Wilhelm and Anna Maria (Engel) Nagel through Frederick William and Anna Magdelena (Mildenberger) Nagel. Are you a Nagel descendant? Thanks John Sinks Arlington, VA
I found Elizabeth Bauer 1737-1812 buried in Dryland Cemetery. Does any one have any thing on her. I thought perhaps she was the mother of Jacob Bauer b. 1765. Also in the Confirmation list in Lehigh Church Macungie Twp. of Apr. 15 1781 Maria Bauer age 13, father CB and 25 Mar. 1785 Samuel Bauer age 14 father CB. Could the father be Charles Bauer. I havent found a Charles Bauer in that time period in Northampton Co. PA. Thank you for any help. Marge Bauer Ohio

I am communicating with you because I have observed at one internet site that you seem to have significant and well-documented information about the Berks County Schroeder families, and even mentioned some of my above-referenced ancestors in the citations you provided. I hope that you do have Berks County Schroeder information available to you and are willing to share it with me. I have been unable to obtain any significant, verifiable information about my Schroeder ancestors past the George Schroeder / Elizabeth (Soder) Schroeder generation, and I have precious little information about those two, other than the fact that Elizabeth was the daughter of the Rev. War Captain John Soder (or Sooder). The only old Schroeder data I have been able to secure is the fact that John Soder Schroeder was the Reading Sheriff from 1848 to 1850, and the comments attributed in Montgomery's Berks/Reading Biographies to Damiel Schroeder (one of John Soder Schroeder's sons), in which he asserts that : "The [presumably "his"] Schroeders have been established in PA since 1720 or 1730, when three brothers, Anthony, Martin and Jacob, came from Germany and settled in Oley and Alsace," and that his "immediate forefathers . . . were farmers, [i.e.] his grandfather George, of Alsace, [and] his father, John S., of Exeter Township".
