I?m searching for the father of Ephraim Lockard, who was born in Northampton County in 1799. I wasn?t able to find anything searching online, so I decided to order the estate files for the Lockards that had sons of the right age in the 1800 and 1810 Census. I recently received the Administration Papers of James Lockart, who died in 1844 in Lower Mount Bethel without a will. Ephraim appears as one of the signers. John Flick was the administrator of the estate, but Ephraim also singed the document and is named on the first page along with John Flick. I was wondering if people think this is a pretty good sign that James was the father of Ephraim. I wonder if anyone else has subscribed to this new database, genealogybank.com ? I am having problems with slow loading and I can not save any of the downloads. Strange, but the PDF icon you need in order to save is missing. Their support group has been working on it for a couple of days and don't know what's wrong. Thanks, Pam
Hi Ron, Thanks for your response. I have also seen the trees at world connect and Ancestry.com. I don't put a lot of faith in any of the trees. Here's what I know and how I connect (I think!) James is living with Amzie and his family in the 1860 &1880 census. He is listed as brother. I can not find them in the 1850 or the 1870 census. See the census record below. I am indirectly related. Alice C Loller, wife of Milton P Frutchey, was the sister of my gr gr grandmother, Margaret Loller who married Milton Fox. Sarah Dietrich, wife of John Buckley Frutchey, was the sister of my gr gr gr gr grandfather, Elias Detrick who married to Eva Nicholas. There is also a John Frutchey & Sarah Dildine. My gr gr grandmother was Ella Dildine who was married to Jacob Smith. I have not found the connection for Ella Dildine. She was listed as Charles Smith, my gr grandfather's, mother on his funeral home record. In the 1870 census, Jacob is living with parents Isaac & Rachel Cortright Smith, he is aged 18. In the 1880 census, Jacob is again living with parents and has a child, Charles. No Ella. I think Ella is Sarah E, daughter of Peter M & Catherine Winters but I have no proof. This is probably way more information then you wanted but, I'm very connected to many families from Northampton, Monroe and Columbia counties. I have been researching my families for several years. Other families surnames, Lee, Transue, Aten, Decker, Bisbing, Smiley, Fleming, just to name a few. Hi everyone! Thanks! ~Michael Messinger~
Hi, Thanks so very much to all you responded to my query about cemetery records. Pam, the cemetery records and other information is so very helpful. Geri, I "think" you have opened the door to something I have been looking for! Marilyn Garrison
