    3. Searching for the parents of Ellen Grube (Grubb, Grub, Grope, etc.) Ellen was born about 1816 in PA. Married Arthur Watson (born England) at the First Methodist Church in Easton, 27 Aug 1836. Family was in Lower Mount Bethel for the 1840 census, then in Zanesville Ohio in 1850, Ellen most likely died before 1860 because Arthur was back in Lower Mount Bethel witha new wife (Mary) in 1860. Living with Arthur and Mary was a Mary Grube- presumably Ellen's mother. Any information or advice on how to proceed would be appreciated. Regards, Bob

I have a running disagreement with the family that the name is Frutchey long U, and they say it is Frutchey, with an I? By the way they lived in Bangor, Pa. and great Aunt Jane owned a flower shop. I have also seen the trees at world connect and Ancestry.com. I don't put a lot of faith in any of the trees. Here's what I know and how I connect (I think!) James is living with Amzie and his family in the 1860 &1880 census. He is listed as brother. I can not find them in the 1850 or the 1870 census. See the census record below. I am indirectly related. Alice C Loller, wife of Milton P Frutchey, was the sister of my gr gr grandmother, Margaret Loller who married Milton Fox. Sarah Dietrich, wife of John Buckley Frutchey, was the sister of my gr gr gr gr grandfather, Elias Detrick who married to Eva Nicholas. There is also a John Frutchey & Sarah Dildine. My gr gr grandmother was Ella Dildine who was married to Jacob Smith. I have not found the connection for Ella Dildine. She was listed as Charles Smith, my gr grandfather's, mother on his funeral home record. In the 1870 census, Jacob is living with parents Isaac & Rachel Cortright Smith, he is aged 18. In the 1880 census, Jacob is again living with parents and has a child, Charles. No Ella. I think Ella is Sarah E, daughter of Peter M & Catherine Winters but I have no proof. This is probably way more information then you wanted but, I'm very connected to many families from Northampton, Monroe and Columbia counties. I have been researching my families for several years. Other families surnames, Lee, Transue, Aten, Decker, Bisbing, Smiley, Fleming, just to name a few. 3. Michael, Sometimes the Orphans Court proceedings have interesting background information. I live near Easton, so I checked the OC records for James Lockhart. Unfortunately, there was nothing that sheds light on your question. However, there was mention of James' debts to other Lockharts (Alex, Ephraim, William and John M.). Buyers at the sale of James' personal property included his widow and Alex, Ephraim, John and William Lockhart. Sale of his personal property did not cover his debts, so Jamess' land was also sold, to Philip Schoch. The recitation of metes and bounds in the deed (Book D7, page 148) includes Samuel and Thomas Lockhart as nieghbors.
