Hope you don't mind. In your 2 Dec post you had information from the Exeter MM. I've been trying to locate Quaker informaion on my James and Rachel Thompson family of the early 1700s. Are they there? James of Exeter Township may have been the James in the Salem NJ MM, brother of Andrew. If so he must have left the Friends church or was removed, because he and his entire family were baptized (James and Rachel, plus children John, Henry, James, Elizabeth) in 1737, at St. Gabriel's. Can you lend me a hand in this? James Brown

Best Wishes, Geri -----Original Message----- From: Jackie Mitchell Sent: Sunday, November 26, 2006 9:28 PM To: geri brennan Subject: Knecht - Oplinger connection Hi: You are such a big help to so many people. A number of the Knecht family came to Summit County, Ohio with the Nathan (Sabina Dieter) Oplinger - Seiberling -Miller - Bauer- Hauser- and others. They all lived in the same community, went to the same church and are buried in the same cemetery. I have been told that the Knechts are cousins to the Oplingers. I have no proof. BUT I do know that Dora Oplinger grand-dau of Nathan had an illegitimate child Vernon Knecht Sept. 30, 1894 died September 29, 1901. Then Bessie Oplinger sis of Dora had an illegitimate child by the same man...she named him Victor Knecht. He was born November 30 1912 and died July 30, 2003. Victor is the one that gave me the information. The Knecht family has owned a cider mill and they have a cider festival every year in Loyal Oak, which is just west of Akron, Ohio. If any one needs any cemetery dates I will be happy to supply them. Or if there is a connection I would like to know it. There was one more Oplinger sister Mabel, my husbands mother. Jackie Mitchell
