Perhaps someone else on the list has more from Plow Churches - Since they married at First Reformed I would assume she is in Plow UCC/Reformed churchbook, which may have been a union church with the Lutherans back then. Diana in AL ----- Original Message ----- From: Ed Wevodau<mailto:[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, December 06, 2006 1:31 AM Subject: [PABERKS] Lykens and Foreman My great-great grandfather William Foreman's death certificate identifies his parents as Peter Foreman & Sarah Lykens of Berks County, PA. I have definitively traced Peter Foreman back to Robeson tp., Berks County. He was the son of Elizabeth Foreman who died intestate in 1847/1848. I find record of Sarah's death as follows: Zion Evangelical Lutheran KB, Jonestown, Lebanon County, PA: Sara Fuhrman, wife of Peter Fuhrman, died 1 May 1859, aged 49 years and 14 days. Buried "in the Hohl." Born 17 Apr 1810. Baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Married 22 Apr 1832. 11 children. Below, I have compiled some information on the Lykens/Likens/Leickens family of southeastern Berks County. The data suggests that Sarah would be the son of one John Lykens; however, I have no proof. The death record suggests that she was baptized in the Lutheran church; however, I don't have ready access to Berks records post 1800. Seeking contact with anyone researching these families or anyone who might have a lead to a data that proves Sarah to be the daughter of John Lykens. Does anyone know what happened to the South Bethlehem Historical Society? Does it still exist? Last spring I was able to read some back issues of their newsletter and I was impressed enough that I sent check to the society to become a member. My check was cashed immediately, but I never recieved a newletter or any other type of correspondence. I have tried to e-mail them to no avail. I left a voice mail message but got no response. Does anyone know what is up with the Society? Lea

They have a son John who was born 29 June 1793 in Pa. I suspect that they are the same family, but need more proof. Philiip and Elizabeth Swank are my GGG-Grandparents. No one in the Swank research family has any idea who Philip Swank parents are. Do anyone have any records on this family? Richard Swank in Calif.

Amos married Mary Ann Wagner who was born in 1826 and died October 2, 1861. His father is Abraham Kissinger but I have no other information about him. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Barb" Barb, This family profile from Montgomery may be of interest even though it does not contain all the information you seek. Maybe there is something in other Kissinger profiles that may help. You can find them online at http://www.rootsweb.com/~paberks/ "Isaac Kissinger, who until recently conducted the successful grocery business at No. 606 North Ninth street, Reading, was born May 26, 1848, in Tulpehocken township, Berks county, son of Amos and Mary A. (Wagner) Kissinger. His grandfather, Abraham Kissinger, was a lifelong farmer of Berks county. Amos Kissinger, father of Isaac, was a farmer and miller of Berks county, where he spent his entire life. He died in Reading in 1882, in his 65th year. His first wife died in 1861, leaving him these children: Elam; Isaac; Franklin; Amelia (married Richard Burkholtz); Amos; Emma (married Jacob Neff; John W.; and Elizabeth (married Howard Frank). Mr. Kissinger's second marriage was to Rebecca Kloop, who died in 1909, leaving two children, Howard and Maggie. Amos Kissinger was a Lutheran in religious belief, and in political matters was a Democrat. Isaac Kissinger was educated in the schools of Reading, and his first work was in a brickyard, after leaving which he engaged in boating on the canal, at which he continued for twelve years. He was then appointed police sergeant, an office in which he served for ten years under Mayors Evans and Rowe, and the next four years he spent as watchman at the Reading Iron Works. Mr. Kissinger then spent two years at the Philadelphia & Reading railway roundhouse, and in 1891 engaged in the grocery business, carrying a complete and up-to- date line of staple and fancy groceries, and commanding a good trade. He retired from business March 30, 1908. In 1880 Mr. Kissinger married Miss Agnes E. Rambo, daughter of Thomas Rambo. Mr. and Mrs. Kissinger have no children. They are members of the Lutheran Church. Politically Mr. Kissinger is a Republican, and fraternally he is connected with the K. G.E. I have found reasonable evidence to believe I am a descendant of Gottfried MUSCHLITZ, who arrived in Phila 1753, settled in Northampton County and died in 1778. However, I need to locate a male descendant of this MUSCHLITZ line who would be willing to take a genealogical DNA test to prove my lineage. My father took a DNA test and we need a MUSCHLITZ male to take the test. It is noninvasive and completely confidential. It is done through FamilyTree DNA in Texas AND I WOULD PAY FOR IT. They send a kit in which one swabs the inside of the cheek, puts the swab back in a vial and returns it to Family Tree DNA. The tests are known only by numbers, not names. They are also only used for genealogy, nothing else. An exact match to my father's would confirm my MUSCHLITZ lineage; anything other than an exact match would disprove it. PLEASE...if there is a male descendant out there of Gottfried MUSCHLITZ, PLEASE contact me. As I said I would pay for the test. My father is 80 years old. I am desperate to solve this mystery in his lifetime. THANK YOU. Rebecca Weigold [email protected]
