Hello Mike and All, Thank you for starting this list! Though much info may be repeated on other lists I think this a little more specific list and something I am looking forward to. My name is Mark Dodd I lived all my life in the Mon Valley. I graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School and currently and probably forever live in Elizabeth. I guess you can say I'm following family tradition. My families showed up in the Mon Valley in late 1700's and early 1800's. Yes, many of their descendents have moved on but all my direct lines stayed and they stayed mostly on the banks of the MON. Here are a few of my surnames: HUGHS, LUCAS, O'NEIL,SHARPNACK,CRAGO, COOPER, MCCRORY, MCFEE, MILLER, HILDEBRAND, BROWN, THOMPSON, KEARNS, THOMAS, WINTERS, MCCLAIN, SWAN, DOUGHTY, COPELAND, PARKISON, MEANS, MITCHELL. Those are the ones that were mostly around the Mon Valley. Mostly all my others were in the "Yough Valley". Some of my other hobbies besides genealogy are local history (of the mon valley and Elizabeth and Forward twps) and I collect anything dealing with riverboats..mostly pictures.
