Hi, Folks, I'm Jane McCann Walsh of Smithfield, PA, born in Uniontown, Fayette County; grew up in OH; and later lived in: IL, NY, MD, and CA before retiring to "home" in PA. My primary Mon Valley ancestors were: McCANNs who ran a ferry on the Mon. between Little Whitely Creek in Greene County and just north of Masontown in Fayette County. These McCanns were (likely) connected to the McCANNs who were in Augusta County, VA in the 1700's (Washington, Greene & Fayette in PA, and Lewis County, WV.) My other Mon Valley families were: HORMELL of W. Pike Run Twp., Wash. Co. in the 1700's; GOSLIN of Bridgeport/Brownsville, Fay. Co. circa 1800; ROSS of Dunkard Twp., Greene County, late 1700's.
