Hi list mates... I put together a little list that is derived from information in the Thurstons 1859 directory. This is a list of farmers along the river, and a few other proinciple citizens. To make this easier to read, I am listing the name , which side of the river the farm was located, the size of the farm (or other notes), and the present day name of the location of the farm. The exact location may be off a bit, due to the limited info in the directory, but it's safe to say, they are close! The order of the farms should be also pretty accurate. Imagine yourself getting on a boat in Bunola, Allegheny county, and traveling south on the river. Farms listed os being on the West side, would be on the right bank (Washington Co. Side) and those listed as East on the left (allegheny, Westmoreland and Fayette Co). Locations shown as Across from (somewhere), means across the river! Hope this helps someone pinpoint a relative!
