    3. Hi Mon Valley, I usually never participate in petty remarks about the content of subject matter on the various roots lists, however, because I live in the Mon Valley and am happy that we "natives" have a list to call our own, I am responding this first and last time. Genealogy is more than a list of birth and death names of family members. It is an appreciation of the lives of our ancestors, their trials, experiences, and everyday events. Just as I get excited when I see some particular point about my ancestors' lives during the 1700's, I appreciate seeing what occurred this century. On the list of movies that was just sent is the cost for service men to see a show. Although trival to some, it stood out to me because I remember standing in awe and looking up at a marine when I was just a little girl at the same theater mentioned. It was called respect, admiration, and honor. I was 7 years old. These types of things have brought back a lot of memories for me. On one message, Eva sent a list of service men called up for the draft. Among those was my father's name. Dad served in the U.S. Navy and saw active duty in the Atlantic. He is dead, but his spirit is still much alive tonight. Thanks Eva, for good memories of days past. Rosalie
