Jane was a midwife in Washington Co., PA, where she met and married George Gillespie in 1762. George and Jane had 10 children in PA, before moving across the Ohio River into Warren Co., OH in 1794. Both George and Jane eventually died in Warren Co., but a number of their offspring went on the western OH---Miami and Shelby Counties. I would love to know who Jane's parents were, who she came to America with (and when), and if she had any siblings. I know there were a number of Allens in Washington Co., PA at the time of the 1790 census, but I've not found Jane listed. (She would have been a Gillespie by then, anyway.) Having no other Allen names, I can't tell which Allens on the census might be her family! Can someone help?
