    2. Diane Smith
    3. My name is Diane Smith. I live in Seattle, WA (ha,ha to Chino). We have a 14 year old daughter at home so I spend time at her school. I write a lot of web pages and have lots of fun. My father's family moved west across PA and settled in Washington County PA. My maiden name is Clark. This is the line I know the least about. I know more about collateral lines. The first Clark I can verify is : Robert Clark b.1779/80 d. 1850 md. Jeanette/Jane Paxton in 1804. Robert's parents are John Clark and Margaret McIntyre but I have not been able to locate this couple. Robert likely has a brother, Andrew M. Clark b.1771 d. 1845. He appears to be a bachelor. This relationship is not proved but Robert Clark, Jr. and Andrew M. Clark purchase together property in Nottingham Twp. from the William Parkinson estate. The deed says the agreement was made in 1803 but the property went into estate and the deed is not transferred until 1811. Anyway the Clark plot is in Pigeon Creek Cemetery. Robert appears as a single man in 1800 on something (can't remember) (but not Andrew). Another older Robert Clark and an apparently older William Clark live close by. These men do not appear to own property but Robert and/or Andrew may be residing in their households on the 1800 census. A John Clark appears on the 1790 census for Nottingham. He has males in the household in the correct categories to be Robert and Andrew. There is also another male under 16 and 4 females. I have never seen a marriage involving a Clark female in the 1800-1810 dateline. I have a deed dated 1790 for land purchased by John Clark in Nottingham from James Ferrol but found no disposition of the land. Provided John and Margaret did reside in Washington County due to lack of info they are dead or moved on. I also have not found info on the older Robert and William (perhaps brothers of John?). They just drop out of sight. On the 1810 census for Nottingham, the older Robert is called Robert, Sr. and my 3-great grandfather is called Robert, R. The name is spelled Clark. William does not appear. In 1820, Robert, Sr. has dropped off and a William reappears. Andrew must live with them but does not appear on the census until 1830. There is a Robert Clark that moved from Washington County, Brownsville and had a store, I wonder if this might be where Robert goes. There seems to be 2 residences near each other. Young Robert raises his family in one and the other seems to house the seniors. The Andrew Clark found in Crummine's as Justice of the Peace is Robert and Jane's son born in 1810 D. 1874. This Andrew does not appear on the census until 1850 in Jane's household. Other names: Robert, son of Robert Clark, MD. Margaret McIlvaine D/o of Greer and Jane Campbell McIlvaine. New Jersey to Cumberland to Franklin to Washington Jane Campbell, D/o Robert Campbell and Martha Paxton (Aunt of Jane Paxton above)-York County (now Adams) to Franklin to Washington Robert Clark and Jane Paxton had 11 children: they married Presto, Morrow, Leyda, Morrison, Taken, and McIlvaine Robert and Martha had 10 children they married: Dawson, McIlvaine, Green lee, Caster, Random I have Crow contacts, looked at many Clark families and saved some info, read Allen Esker's books, too, I loved them and all the names. **************************************************************** Diane Smith [email protected] http://www.halcyon.com/dianes Seattle, WA Foundation for Educational Choice - http://www.halcyon.com/maywood Kidlink KIDPROJ Assistant/Webmaster - http://www.kidlink.org/ Foster Tukwila Presbyterian Church - http://www.ftpc.org/foster ICQ UIN# 23270571 ***************************************************************** Researching Clark,Paxton,McIlvaine,Campbell,Morrow,Morrison *****************************************************************
