Hi Mike and Mon Valley, Short and sweet....Ancestral Grandparents Earliest ancestors to Mon Valley were Stephen and Margaret Brannon Maxon who arrived in Fayette County around 1789 and settled in Franklin Twp. They had three sons, Joel Maxon b. 1791 m. Hannah Fields; (my ancestral ggreats) Stephen Maxon, Jr. m. Rachel Cook, and Jesse Maxon m. (?) who had a son, Morris Maxon. They were Seventh Day Baptists and Quakers, then M.E. This family has roots to Mass and R.I. beginning in 1620 from England. Later my ancestors moved to Coal Center, Elco, (Woods Run) Roscoe, and Dunlevy. Joseph and Sarah Lancaster lived in Redstone Twp. in Fayette Co. in 1850. Next earliest Thomas Morgan son of Isaac and Sarah Morgan arrived from Wales in 1860, and settled in Jefferson and Franklin Twp. in Fayette County. Joseph and Missoura McIntosh lived in Bridgeport around 1860-parents of my gggrandmother, Catherine Elizabeth McIntosh Morgan Patterson. Barney Walker served in the Civil War in the Calvary and lived in Brownsville in 1860. Husband's earliest Thomas Wells, Capt. in Rev. War. Washington Co. (partially Virginia). Lived in Washington Area and in Monongahela. (1770's)His sons lived in California, Pa. Bridgeport, and Monongahela before some of them moved to Ohio and WVA. John Carroll and Mary Shields Carroll arrived from Scotland (Irish) in 1870, settled in Houtzdale, then California, Pa. before arriving in Charleroi 1901.
