Once upon a time there was a baby boy born July 6, 1822. No one knows who his parents were. His descendants checked Census records, courthouses, historical societies, and books; but, no parents. He just appears in the Census as one Stephen Whetsel m. to his second cousin, Jane Whetsel b.1831. Stephen and Jane had one daughter and seven sons. For the most part Stephen lived in the Mon Valley; but, where his parents lived is a mystery. Does anyone have info on the parents of Stephen Whetsel?. I have seen at least 4 different spellings for Stephen's surname. We have a clue that Stephen's father may have been named John. Stephen and Jane named their first born son, John Homer and their second son George after Jane's father. Need some help to give Stephen some parents.
