    3. Dear Listers, The Focus Magazine Section of the Sunday Tribune Review has an excellent article on 3 historical society sites. Elizabeth Twp., Westmoreland County & Western PA. I don't know if that section is on line at their site or not. I wanted to call your attention to it. However, in regard to the Elizabeth Twp. section there needs to be a couple corrections. 1. The staff is also trying to keep the building open on Tuesdays from 9:45 a.m. until 3:00 at least. This is in addition to Wednesday during the day & on Friday evenings. (During lent Friday evenings should be listed as by appt. since so much is going on at that time. I usually suggest that people let us know ahead of time when they want to come in so I can be there to help them in the library. 2. The Elizabeth Herald Newspapers, mentioned in the article, are not available for public viewing because of the fragile state they are in. The earliest issue we have is for 1875 & there are a few missing for in-between years. We have not had these long & it will be some time before we can abstract off as much as we would like to do it. This is because of previous commitments that have to be completed first. I'm hoping we will do the marriages & deaths, in full copy form, for 1886 through 1889 first. This is because Elizabeth Wall abstracted off the marriages & deaths between 1874 & 1885 in excellent form. Then, we have Simmer's work starting in 1890 on just the deaths. We have nothing in-between in a published form & it will be wonderful to get that done in the future. 3. Last but not least, the note in the blocked area of the article states that I charge $10. an hr. That is not my fee. That is the historical society fee. At times, I have done work off & had to mail it myself. This is when I just subtract the expenses & turn in the balance to the building. I am a volunteer there & anything that is done in the building is done for their benefit. I only have taken on something private, out of the building, on a limited basis, once in a while, as time has allowed. Just thought I'd better clarify that for any who read the article. I sure do hope many of you can see it. Best Regards, Ellen (ETHS)
