    1. Re: [PAMONVAL] Taylor cemetery
    2. Hello All, Concerning Forward township Cemeteries.... I have all the records if anyone needs a lookup. I did have them online but I went to redo all my websites and I just haven't had time to put them back online. ElkHorn Patch... Well I actually never heard of it called that but Yes The town of Elkhorn is/was across the river from Mitchell Power Plant. There was a post office, Railroad Station, Hotel, School and a few houses including miner houses of the W.H. Brown & Sons coal mine known as the OLD EAGLE COAL WORKS. So more than likely that would be Elkhorn Patch. Today the School is gone, Post office has been torn down, the railroad station has disappeared also. Hardly any signs of a coal mine is there and only a hand full of houses remain, but none of the Company houses. The one large house that remains is the old Homestead of John Gardner, nowadays it is the residence of Ms. Molnar and Molnars Marina. The Cemetery is located up over the hill behind the town on Elkhorn road. Manown also had the same as Elkhorn and today those things are long gone also. There are a few more houses than Elkhorn but no cemetery. There are seven Cemeteries located in Forward Township and all but one were family burying grounds and date pretty far back. The only true public cemetery is the Taylor Cemetery, officially named West Bend, but known to locals as Taylor. This cemetery is still in use but not very often. Good Luck!
