Hello Jan and Mark, You may find more info on the early Alexander families in the book on the Fleniken/Flanagan family that were intermarried with them. There are branches of the Alexander and Flanagan families that moved south about the middle 1700's due to the French and Indian War Indian troubles. They moved to the Mechlingburg County Charlotte, NC and York County, SC area where I now live. This is my cousin William Fleniken's family line and not mine. I have not seen the book that was done by one of the Flanagans who lives in Ohio. I believe there has been cross naming of children's names such as William Flanagan Alexander and William Alexander Flanagan. Today, a William Alexander Flanagan lives near Rock Hill, York County, SC and a Flanagan and an Alexander are neighbors just outside York, SC. However, I am interested in learning the parents and families of James and Mame Davidson, and Sarah J. McCrory spouses you mentioned below.
