Hi All... There has been some recent talk around the valley of a new county that would follow the general boundaries of the area encompassed by our mailing list and Web site. This is not a new idea. I've posted an article from Earle Forrest's History of Washington County (1926) that deals with 8 attempts of the same thing, dating back to the late 1700's. On one occasion, the formation of "Monongahela County" was defeated by the state legislature by just one vote.
