Hi friends, I made 2 unverified discoveries yesterday that I want to offer up for speculation. According to the LDS IGI (do I have the right initials?) the full name for my great-grandmother was Cynthia Maria Conaway--I do know for certain her middle initial was M. John Conaway (Father of Cynthia) was married (1) to Rhodias CARTER. Rhodias has been verified, but Carter hasn't. I checked the census index on Ancestry.com and found tons of Carter entries for Pa., but most interesting was a William Carter of Greene Co., Pa.--I believe Morris Twp. I know that John Conaway was born and lived in Fredericktown, Pa. for many years, and that several of his children married people from Greene co. Also, the name William and names beginning with W seem to figure prominently in John and Rhodias' children--i.e. Albert W. Alson W. William M. Willemine Also, and I'm speaking from memory now, in one of the 3 Conaway sons who had Civil War pension applications, there was an affidavit submitted by a Carter who seemed to have been too old to have been a contemporary of the veteran. I'll check more on that and get back with that information. John's second wife was Eliza Ann ? My aunt told me that Eliza Ann was Rhodias' sister. My aunt got this information from her mother, who was raised by John and Eliza Ann. Of course this information is unverified, but I must say that with all the other information that my aunt gave me that I have attempted to prove she has been correct. So, what is the feedback?
