[1] Sponsors: Joseph Fogle and Margritta M. Plunket Notes for Anna Maria 'Mary' (Child 1) John's second wife, Catherine BOHR, says of the first wife the following: "John Ott was married once before to 'Mary Hines', he called her; but her full and correct name was Anna Maria as I am told by her brother John HINES [7] (who lives near me) and by her sister, Minnie KILLIAN, that it was her full name under which [she] was christened, married and buried and so inscribed on her tombstone. ..." [6] Anna Maria and her son share a tombstone which lies next to Peter OTT's and Margaritha BECK OTT's of the same size and design. On it are two names with unreadable names and dates. A Mary Lou Green (540 Sangree Rd., Pgh, Pa. 15237) says she was able to decipher this third fallen tombstone as reading: "Anna Maria Ott 1842[7] -1867". This Anna Maria or Mary would have died at age 25, if she died in 1867. However, since Peter died in 1884 and Margaritha in 1887, these tombstones were probably not selected and made prior to 1887. All three gravestones (Peter's, Margaritha's and Johannes/Anna Maria's) are of a similar style and material, so they were probably ordered and cut at the same time (or at least done by the same carver). [Possibly ordered and paid for by John OTT himself.] Notes for John & Philomena (Family) US Census: of 1900 lists John Hines 44, born in PA.
