Hello list members.... List members who have been around a while will remember me, while the newbies will say, who's this guy and why is he sending me an email?? Being the listowner of this list, and the site manager of the Mon Valley History and Genealogy site can be time consuming, and over the past few months, I just haven't had the time to give either the quality time that they demand. This is about to change. My "Day Job" is seasonal, and I will soon take my three weeks vacation, followed by a winter layoff. This will give me the time to contribute better to our little project. So now I need some help! Help #1 - ROLL CALL Our list consists of about 300 folks, and there is a lot that each of us have to share. Lets start out by getting aquatinted with each others research needs, especially the newer members, but us "old folks" as well. Known as a ROLL CALL, this is the time for each of us to list the surnames , dates, locations, etc. of the families you are researching in the Mon Valley. We can keep these emails fairly brief by listing your families as such: example: DONALDSON - settled in Allen Township, Washington Co. Came to valley about 1830. List as many of your surnames as you wish, but keep the other info short, there will be plenty of time to add more info later! In the SUBJECT Line, Please include only the words ROLL CALL and you primary names "ROLL CALL: Donaldson, Dale, Bevan, McKee, Conaway" <Tip: In a perfect cyber world, you can search the archives of this list and find your surnames from previous Roll Calls and messages from the front page of the Mon Valley History and Genealogy Site. However Rootsweb is having problems with this service. Until they are resolved, you can go to their Interactive search at http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl You'll have to type in the List name (PAMONVAL) and then enter your search query. Hopefully this feature will return soon to the Site.> HELP #2 Information for the Mon Valley History and Genealogy Site.... I need everything! If you have information either on your own family tree ( Family Outlines, Biographies, Obituaries, Wills, Web site links, etc.) or information that can help others (Census, Cemetery interment lists, etc.). I can also add pictures, etc. contact me for proper picture formats. There are some limits! Simply put, if it deals with the Mon Valley, and Genealogy or history, I'll put it on my site. If there is not a proper place for it, I'll make one! If you have something that you are not sure is suitable, let me know what it is, and we'll talk about it! Thank you in advance for your help. -- Thanks Mike Donaldson, Bentleyville, PA (mdonald4@bentcom.net) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mon Valley History and Genealogy Website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamonval/ Mon Valley: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: http://www.geocities.com/mdonald318/ My family gedcom: http://www.my-ged.com/donldson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Listowner of: Monongahela River Valley of Penna Rootsweb mailing list: PAMONVAL-L@rootsweb.com - Mail mode PAMONVAL-D@rootsweb.com - Digest mode Bieneman / Bienemann Rootsweb Mailing list Bienemann-L@rootsweb.com - Mail Mode Bienemann-D@rootsweb.com - Digest mode
