Hi Ellen, The paper you're looking for is the Charleroi Mail. The library at Monessen and also the Manderino Library in California have this paper on microfilm. The Monessen library also has some original copies, in very fragile condition, I'm afraid. This paper is a genealogist's dream--full of lots of local news and little tidbits sprinkled throughout the paper. Besides the usual--obituaries, death notices, etc., it carries births (including the baby's birth weight), marriages (including descriptions of the wedding), engagements, hospital admissions and discharges (on a daily basis), church and local club news, school news. Good luck! Eva in Tallahassee --- Ellen Ballas <ellen@b-n-s.com> wrote: > Hi! > Charleroi area in early 1930's.
