A little while ago I posted re my dad's Uncle John Jenkins and Aunt Edith (West) Jenkins of Charleroi. I had their Death Certificates and was looking for obit information. Thanks to the very kind and swift service of the Monessen Public Library, I have received several obits for John and Edith and what a find!!. I will not bore everyone with the complete obits; but, I have found the following so I hope that someone recognizes the names of these people since they are relatives that I did not know existed except for my dad' Aunt Ida who I thought had never married: I finally learned that my dad's Aunt Ida Jenkins did marry after all and her husband's surname was GARLICK so if there are any Garlick descendants on the list, please contact me. I also learned at last that Great-uncle John and Edith had children. According to both obits they were:J. William Jenkins of Charleroi, R.D. 2; and two daughters; Mrs. John F. (Edith) TAYLOR of Rockfall & Meriden, Conn. and Mrs.Ruth LAUDERBAUGH/LAUDERBACK of Charleroi. At the time of Edith's death in 1966, there were 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. John Jenkins who died in 1962 belonged to the following organizations: Charleroi Presbyterian Church F. and A.M. Lodge 615, Charleroi The Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of New Castle, Syria Temple, Pittsburgh Knights Templar, 80 Also belonged to Charleroi Lodge, 494, B.P.O.E. and the F.O.E.Lodge 390, Charleroi. **************************************************************************** Edith (West) Jenkins who died in 1966, and was known as the "Area's Girl Scout Mother,"belonged to: Charleroi Presbyterian Church and President of the Quilter's group. I apologize for this lengthy post; but, I wanted to get all of the information posted so that maybe someone will know my cousins or belong to one of the above groups who can tell me more about my dad's uncle and aunt.. Thank you for any help you can give me and a big thank you to Daniel Zyglowicz of the Monessen Public Library who gathered the above info for me. Marilyn, Are you sure the name was GARLICK? My jr. high principal was Pete GARNIC. The names are so similar, I wonder if it could have been a typo.
