Hello all, I have just received the pension application file that John Conaway of Fredericktown & Elco, 1820-1905, filed as a dependent of his son Jesse J. who served in the Civil War. Among other information an affadavit submitted by John Conaway states that he and Jesse's mother (Rhodes/Rodias) were married January 18, 1840 at Millsboro, Pa. by Remembrance Hughes, Esq. and that she died April 8, 1868 at Fredericktown, Pa. He does not give her name--I got that from 1850 & 1860 census returns.
