Is any one doing research on the CHESTER Family in Washington County, Pennsylvania area?
Can anyone connect the Jacobus Van Gorden found in the Beaver/Washington/Lawrence Co., PA area to the NJ family? Bios on the Van Gorden family can be found at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/pa/lawrence/1897/ I conect to many families of the Minisink area (where this man supposedly came from) & also have some who migrated to the same PA area by 1800. Thank you, Cindy

Hi Everyone, I'm trying to find William Metzler born Feb 24 1883 in McKeesport, Allegheny County, PA or possibly Jack's Run Hollow (near McKeesport) He was the son of Conrad and Katherine Ehrhardt Metzler. The Metzler farm was located on McKee Road in White Oak. William and Conrad had an arguement and William left home never to be heard from again. The last piece of information we were able to find on William was an article in the McKeesport Daily News dated 1904 that said he had been injured while working at the National Tube Works. It listed his address as Jack's Run Road. We haven't been able to find him since then. I have checked the 1910 census for the McKeesport and surrounding areas and haven't come up with any matches for my William. Conrad Metzler died in 1939 and the family put obituaries in the local papers along with ads, hoping William would attend the funeral or return home. They never heard from him. If anyone is descended from this William Metzler or knows any descendants, please contact me. We would love to hear William's side of the story. Thanks, Teresa tmg@stargate.net

Unfortunately, I have limited info on your Uncle Rueben. I believe all that I have is on Kindred Konnections. To make things easier, I'll include an outline of all I have, on the family. My connection is thru the CROW family. You probably have additional information to add to mine as well. For him to be your Uncle, he would either have to have siblings, which I don't have info on, or his wife (Bethsheba DOWLER) would have to have siblings, also which I have no info on. Hello list and David. To follow is a message about the Underwood family I received from David Pearson. Can anyone help with his research. As far as I know there are still copies out there for purchase, but I'll have to find out from where!! I have an Underwood in my own family tree (married to a distant cousins sister.. not to close.)that is the son on Joseph. And I'm sure there are other researchers and or Underwood cousins still in this area. The village of Roscoe (pop. about 600) was named after Joseph Underwood's wife (her maiden name was Roscoe) In addition to the Website, I also have a mailing list that deals with the history and genealogy of the Monongahela River Valley, here in Pennsylvania. I will forward your message to that list in hopes of finding a cousin of yours that may have more information. The Underwood that is in my tree is: Descendants of Thomas J. Underwood 1 Thomas J. UNDERWOOD b: 1868 d: 1943 . +Ettamay QUALK b: May 1864 d: 1921 ..... 2 Hila UNDERWOOD b: Abt. 1894 ..... 2 Mildred UNDERWOOD b: Abt. 1898 Thomas is the son of Joseph and Ellen. If you go to the main page of the Mon Valley Site and using the search engine, there are 22 occurances of the name Underwood. You may find more information there. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamonval Good luck. -- Thanks Mike Donaldson, Bentleyville, PA (mdonald4@bentcom.net) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mon Valley History and Genealogy Website: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamonval/ Mon Valley: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow: http://www.geocities.com/mdonald318/ My family gedcom: http://www.my-ged.com/donldson ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Listowner of: Monongahela River Valley of Penna Rootsweb mailing list: PAMONVAL-L@rootsweb.com - Mail mode PAMONVAL-D@rootsweb.com - Digest mode Bieneman / Bienemann Rootsweb Mailing list Bienemann-L@rootsweb.com - Mail Mode Bienemann-D@rootsweb.com - Digest mode

Cindy, Go to http://lists.rootsweb.com and it lists all the mailing lists; specifically http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/PA where it does list all of the state's lists. Yes, Westmoreland and Greene Counties have lists. I can't speak for Greene, but Westmoreland is a fairly active list. Good luck! Marilyn G. of Calif. James L(ewis) Krepps was the son of Joseph (1800-1878) and Charlotte (?) Krepps. Not sure of their birthplace, but they did live in Allenport. I have run across the name Solomon Krepps before, but have not made a connection. I believe that this Solomon came from the Krepps family that was in the Brownsville area. (The Malden Inn was originally the Krepps Hotel on Krepps Knob. - An Biography from Nelson's Biographical Dictionary and Historical Reference Book of Fayette County. has the family history. Hopefully this is the same Solomon - it is online at the Mon Valley History and Genealogy Site: direct link: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamonval/bios/krepps.html Hope this helps Thanks, Mike Donaldson ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------- List owner - pamonval-l@rootsweb.com - pamonval-d@rootsweb.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------- Web sites: Mon Valley Historical and Genealogy PA http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pamonval Mon Valley, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow http://www.geocities.com/mdonald318 Donaldson - Bieneman Family Web Site: http://www.my-ged.com/donldson ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------
