    3. Searching information on Charles Biles, born 1776, son of Henry Biles and Eleanor Patterson of Monongahela City. All that I know about Charles is that he married Jane Miles and was a surveyor, probably living near Donora in 1820. They had 8 children: Jehial, Eleanor, Mary, John, Francis Asbury, Andrew Jackson, Enos Graham, and William Patterson. I am also looking for information on John Biles, 1813-1890, who married Mary Ann Lynn, both are buried at Mt Tabor Cemetery in Roscoe, Washington County. I believe him to be one of Charles's children. The children of John and Mary Ann were Harrison, Booth, Elizabeth, Louisa, William Henry, John Jr., Melissa Ann, Drusilla, Martha Jane, and Allen M. Harrison was my great-grandfather. Any information on them or other Biles family will be much appreciated. Lynne Mayer ===== __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 2. I'm Robert Dickson MOLLENAUER, Jr., in Ridgecrest, CA, between Mt. Whitney and Death Valley. Stuck in the desert. I was born in Charleroi-Monesson Hospital, and lived in Charleroi from 1948 to 1951. My mother is a HORN(e) (her mother added the e), and her mother was a BARNHART. Robert Leslie BARNHART was the architect, builder, owner, operator of the Palace Theater (and Electric Theater before that) in Charleroi. He married Fannie ZURLINDEN of Little Falls, Herkimer Co., NY in 1884, in Pittsburgh. I haven't been able to find any information on their marriage, but sure would like to. It seems that RLB was born in Mississippi, and I'm on a Rootsweb for that county (Wilkinson Co.), also. My paternal Grandparents were the MOLLENAUER's and PEASE families. I've got about all the MOLLENAUER information I need, and "most" of the PEASE information, but always looking for more, of course. With thanks to people like Eva Zippay, Gina Nestor, and a couple others whom I cannot think of their names properly right now (regretfully), I've learned so much from the PAWASHIN site, that I KNOW this will be a worthwhile, informative site. Names I research, primarily, are: MOLLENAUER, PEASE, BARNHART, HORN, ZURLINDEN, DICKSON, seeking information on Agnes DUNN's family. Any spelling of PEASE qualifies! Thanks! 1. [PAMONVAL] Roll Call and Intro
    2. Hello, I am Betsy NORRIS Banzen, born, at home, in Clairton, PA (actually Wilson for those of your familiar with the valley). Dr. Stollar, from Elizabeth, PA, arrived after my arrival to assure my parents all was OK. I graduated from Clairton High School in 1960. Due to the transfer of my dad, in 1960, by US Steel, to Gary, IN, I ended up teaching school and marrying in Indiana. After 32.5 years teaching math in Merrillville, IN, I retired, in June 1997, to Venice, FL. Last spring while helping my 81 year old dad, Kenneth E. NORRIS, Clairton H.S., class of 1935, set up his new computer, I caught the genealogy bug from him and my mom, Margaret Barnes BROWN Norris, Clairton H.S., class of 1932. I was lucky to inherit much research from them, but I am trying to enlarge our ancestor tree. My BARNES/BROWN relatives arrived in the valley during the 1840/1850s. Ggf Robert BROWN's place of death is listed as Lock #3. With each family having a dozen or more kids, I am sure that I have many unknown relatives up and down the valley. I would like to make contact with them. I just found out that my ggf Joseph E. NORRIS, who had been a mystery until recently, was one of the two policemen, in Glassport, PA, in the early 1900s, involved in several gun battles with criminals. I found this out thanks to the ladies at the McKeesport Heritage Center. Joseph E. NORRIS had a brother, Issac J. NORRIS, who also lived in Glassport, and I believe his descendants may be in the valley. I would like to make contact with them in hopes of tracing our mutual gggrandparents, James NORRIS and his wife, Lavina (surname?), whose roots have eluded my dad for years. Other valley research surnames are RHINE, KIMMICK, RYAN, JOHNSON, and STONE. Thanks, Betsy in Venice, FL Elizabeth A. Banzen 504 Pennyroyal Place Venice, FL 34293 [email protected]

    2. My name is Judy Burns and I live in Oklahoma City. I have lived here all my life. I began researching my family lines about two years ago. I am definitely hooked on the process as I love the digging and finding. However, the best thing to come out of my research has been to come into contact with some of the nicest people imaginable. My surnames are BARMORE (BAREMORE), FURMAN, JOHNSON, KING, AND SOUTH. These families were in this area primarily from 1800 to 1880. The BARMORE and FURMAN families were in Dunkard Twp, Greene County, PA from 1800 to 1850. They then moved on to Tyler and Wood Counties in WV. The JOHNSON line also came from Pleasants County WV. Of course, I am interested in information leading back farther "up the tree" however I am very interested in knowing more about my ancestors - what they did - how they lived - what kind of people they were. My grandfather Furman was born in Sistersville, Tyler County, WV. The Furmans became involved in the oil business. My grandfather met my grandmother while drilling a well next to her farm in Grant County, IN. The family followed the development of the oil business and moved on to OK and, later, to TX. 1. [PAMONVAL] Lost Bible
    2. Marilyn Prinzing
    3. Hello again, As long as this is a list that covers more territory, I am going to try one more time to find the Wilson descendant that hopefully still has a Bible belonging to a Robert Wilson whose dates are 1749-1815. In 1905 the Bible was mentioned in a newspaper article on a Wilson Family from Fayette City who were attempting to get an inheritance from Robert Wilson's estate. The Bible had been purchased by Robert Wilson sometime in the 1770s and had a rich family history within its pages. The Bible was used as genealogical proof by the Fayette City family. Since my g, grandmother Clara Jane Worrell, Roley hired her own Gettysburg lawyer to prove her claim, I would very much like to find that Bible so I can obtain my family's Wilson history and perhaps learn the lineage of my g,g,g,g,grandfather Robert Wilson. The two Wilson brothers who came from Gettysburg to settle in the Mon Valley were John and Charles. I have all of the names for John's children and only the names for two sons for Charles. They were Hiram m to a Mary Ann who lived in Belle Vernon and a Charles who was born after his father Charles had died. I can provide a copy of the 1905 article to anyone who might be related. I also have a collection of letters written to Clara Jane Worrell, Roley on the subject of Robert Wilson and the inheritance. Some of the letters were written by a cousin, Libby Clutter, an aunt, Mary Ann Wilson widow of Hiram and another cousin by the name of Lida. Hope someone can help. I sure would hate to find out that the Bible ended up in some antique show in PA.or worse the garbage can. 2. Diane Smith
    3. My name is Diane Smith. I live in Seattle, WA (ha,ha to Chino). We have a 14 year old daughter at home so I spend time at her school. I write a lot of web pages and have lots of fun. My father's family moved west across PA and settled in Washington County PA. My maiden name is Clark. This is the line I know the least about. I know more about collateral lines. The first Clark I can verify is : Robert Clark b.1779/80 d. 1850 md. Jeanette/Jane Paxton in 1804. Robert's parents are John Clark and Margaret McIntyre but I have not been able to locate this couple. Robert likely has a brother, Andrew M. Clark b.1771 d. 1845. He appears to be a bachelor. This relationship is not proved but Robert Clark, Jr. and Andrew M. Clark purchase together property in Nottingham Twp. from the William Parkinson estate. The deed says the agreement was made in 1803 but the property went into estate and the deed is not transferred until 1811. Anyway the Clark plot is in Pigeon Creek Cemetery. Robert appears as a single man in 1800 on something (can't remember) (but not Andrew). Another older Robert Clark and an apparently older William Clark live close by. These men do not appear to own property but Robert and/or Andrew may be residing in their households on the 1800 census. A John Clark appears on the 1790 census for Nottingham. He has males in the household in the correct categories to be Robert and Andrew. There is also another male under 16 and 4 females. I have never seen a marriage involving a Clark female in the 1800-1810 dateline. I have a deed dated 1790 for land purchased by John Clark in Nottingham from James Ferrol but found no disposition of the land. Provided John and Margaret did reside in Washington County due to lack of info they are dead or moved on. I also have not found info on the older Robert and William (perhaps brothers of John?). They just drop out of sight. On the 1810 census for Nottingham, the older Robert is called Robert, Sr. and my 3-great grandfather is called Robert, R. The name is spelled Clark. William does not appear. In 1820, Robert, Sr. has dropped off and a William reappears. Andrew must live with them but does not appear on the census until 1830. There is a Robert Clark that moved from Washington County, Brownsville and had a store, I wonder if this might be where Robert goes. There seems to be 2 residences near each other. Young Robert raises his family in one and the other seems to house the seniors. The Andrew Clark found in Crummine's as Justice of the Peace is Robert and Jane's son born in 1810 D. 1874. This Andrew does not appear on the census until 1850 in Jane's household. Other names: Robert, son of Robert Clark, MD. Margaret McIlvaine D/o of Greer and Jane Campbell McIlvaine. New Jersey to Cumberland to Franklin to Washington Jane Campbell, D/o Robert Campbell and Martha Paxton (Aunt of Jane Paxton above)-York County (now Adams) to Franklin to Washington Robert Clark and Jane Paxton had 11 children: they married Presto, Morrow, Leyda, Morrison, Taken, and McIlvaine Robert and Martha had 10 children they married: Dawson, McIlvaine, Green lee, Caster, Random I have Crow contacts, looked at many Clark families and saved some info, read Allen Esker's books, too, I loved them and all the names. **************************************************************** Diane Smith [email protected] http://www.halcyon.com/dianes Seattle, WA Foundation for Educational Choice - http://www.halcyon.com/maywood Kidlink KIDPROJ Assistant/Webmaster - http://www.kidlink.org/ Foster Tukwila Presbyterian Church - http://www.ftpc.org/foster ICQ UIN# 23270571 ***************************************************************** Researching Clark,Paxton,McIlvaine,Campbell,Morrow,Morrison *****************************************************************

    3. Hello members. I am excited that Mike has started a list that covers the Mon Valley. I was born in Grafton, W.VA. as my dad was there helping to build the Tygarrt Dam. Since my mother's family goes back several generations in Belle Vernon particularly in the Seldom Seen area, my parents moved back to PA as soon as the job was finished. Dad worked for Pages Chain & Cable Co. until he retired. We were living in Lynnwood where I attended Fairhope School for my first six years of school. After sixth grade, we moved to Belle Vernon where I went to Vernon Jr. High and graduated from Bellmar High School in 1956. My late mother, Vera Jenkins, taught school at Marion. By the way, we were tough little kids. The first year we walked to school as the school buses didn't appear until the next year. Also, the whole six years we had outhouses for the students. Can you imagine any child today being expected to use an outhouse? Someone always tipped a few over at Halloween. I graduated from college in Illinois after my children were older. I now live in NE Illinois in a county called Lake. We are about 1 hr from both Chicago and Milwaukee. I have been a Real Estate Broker for the past 23 years. My mother's family have always been interested in genealogy with my g, grandmother Clara Jane Worrell, Roley gathering many of the Worrell family documents which have since been assigned to me. While I have been able to go forward and add generations, the real credit for the vast data bank that I now have goes to my mother's sister and my cousin who have done very thorough research for the last thirty years when genealogy was not popular. The following names are mostly from my mother's family. The Jenkins, Barringer, Landis, Shellenberger, and Anderson names are from my dad's family. I hope to find new cousins. Best wishes to all, Marilyn Jenkins Prinzing, NE Illinois Anderson, Barringer, Bedall (Beadle), Dicks(Dix), Howe, Jenkins, Johnson, Jordan, Landis, Mayhorn, Minerd, Moller, Roley,Shellenberg(er), Shevlin, Sisler, Weber, Wetzel/Whetzel/Whetsel plus var., Wilson, Worrell. PA: Adams, Allegheny, Berks, Fayette, Greene, Northampton, Somerset, Washington, Westmoreland, York Counties Maryland: Frederick Co. and Hagerstown. Ohio: Akron WV ties also.
