Walter D. DOLAN Sr. Walter D. DOLAN , Sr., of 208 Lincoln Ave extention, Charleroi, died suddenly at his home, May 3 1954, at 3:15 p. m. Mr. Dolan was born in Fallowfield Township, June 17 1911, the son of John H. and Ida SPHAR Dolan. He was employed as a field man for the Equitable Gas Company. He is survived by his wife, Violet MURPHY Dolan, one son Walter D. Hello, I asked this question on the Washington Co. list and got no reply so I am hoping someone can help me. I am trying to trace my g,g,g, grandparents John Wilson and Jane Bedall(Beadle). I found that a John Wilson was a member of the Maple Creek Christian Church. My question is this: Was this Maple Creek Christian Church the same church that eventually was in downtown Charleroi and became known at the Charleroi Christian Church? My late mother, Vera Jenkins, was a member of the Charleroi church. Next question: Where did the Charleroi church move? I had heard they built out of town. Does anyone know how far back their records go? Can someone please give me an address for this church? A couple friendly reminders: Attaching files to the list, or including "click on" hyper links are a No No, according to rootsweb. Although these things would actually work in List mode, the main problem is in the digest mode. The codes for these are very long, and are printed out as text in the digest email. Mrs. EVANS retired this Spring as County press and Publicity chairman, is a past vice-president at-large of the county, a past vice-chairman of Fine Arts Department, a past vice-chairman of the Drama Division of the Fine Arts Department, and a past County Ways and Means chairman. She is a member of the Athene club and the Junior Athene club of Charleroi, having served the latter organization as president for two years, and second vice-president for two years, recording secretary for two years and parliamentarian for three years. She is also a member of the Washington County Poetry Society, has belonged to the Pittsburgh Branch of the Poetry Society of Great Britain and America for four years, and is a charter member of the Civic Theatre Guild of Charleroi, and at present is director of play productions. She is a member of the Blue Star Brigade and has taken part in most community, civic and war defense activities. She holds a Bachelor of Oratory degree from Geneva college, Beaver Falls; a B.A. degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, Ia., and did work on a Masters degree at the University of Pittsburgh. She taught Mathematics and Dramatics in Charleroi for three years. She is also a member of Frill and Frown, an honorary dramatic fraternity." Wow!
