Brenda, I just checked in "Pennsylvania German Church Records, II" and I find the listing of Joh.. Christophel Brechbiel in the Records of the Lutheran Church of New Hanover. It also lists the birth as 29 July 1748 and bapt as 31 July 1748. The parents are Isac and Maria Catharine. The witnesses were John Schimmel and Margareth, and Christophel Schwing. I don't know why the two sources give different churches. The additional information of the witnesses may give some clue as to other family names. Hope this helps.
