    1. [PAMONTGO-L] DAVIS
    2. Does anyone have info about the William Davis referred to in the following excerpt from Whitpain Twp, Montgomery Co PA history: William DAVIS, a Welsh Quaker, was among the first settlers of Whitpain Twp. He purchased 200 acres of land on Skippack Pike...since there is no record or deed it is assumed that he bought the property from John Palmer about 1701. In 1729 he acquired 116 acres of the great Whitpain tract from Rees Thomas, Anthony Morris and Ann Whitpain. In his will dated 1735, he left sixteen acres to his wife Deborah, all his other properties were to be sold. He was survived by five children: David, Thomas, John, James and Margret who were all under sixteen years of age. I am interested in determining whether this is the family of my Thomas DAVIS (m Elinor?; children Thomas, David, Elinor, Elizabeth) who lived in Hatfield Twp, Montgomery Co PA, where he died in 1777. Any help appreciated. Edie
