    1. Re: [PAMONTGO-L] Surnames - Tomlinson/Cleaver
    2. Some additional information to yesterday's post re: Thomas W. Cleaver and Lydia Ann Tomlinson: In the book "A Cronology of Quaker Valley and Nearby Areas, Bedford County, PA." there are several pages of a "gossip" type column written by someone in Fishertown for the Bedford Gazette for 1888-1891. In this column are several references to them: April 30, 1889 Thomas W. Cleaver was summoned to Philadelphia yesterday on the occasion of the death of his wife's aunt. May 28, 1889 Comly Walton and wife, of near Philadelphia, paid a short visit in the family of Thomas Cleaver last week. August 20, 1889 Amos Tomlinson and wife, of near Philadelphia, spent a few days in the pleasant home of their uncle, Thomas Cleaver. November 5, 1889 Thomas W. and Irvine Cleaver were among the number at Friend's yearly meeting last week. The above named remained for a short visit after close of meeting. July 3, 1890 Yesteday was Friends' quarterly meeting here. ...........The ministers in attendance were Watson Tomlinson, of near Philadelphia, and Levi Benson, of near Columbus , Ohio. Both these distinguished Friends were actively and earnestly engaged at the various sessions of the meeting. ................two Miss Cleavers, of Unionville, and Mr. Tomlinson are also tarrying a short time among us. November 18, 1890 Thomas Cleaver and Hiram Blackburn represent the Friends' Society of this place in their quarterly meeting at Grampian Hills, Clearfield County. Do these references ring any bells with the Montgomery Co Tomlinson family? Thanks, Joyce in Anchorage
