Ziegel Church, the territory of Ziegel's church lay between the extremes of Long Swamp and Lynn township. The proper organization was effected in 1745. The old church record registers baptisims in the thirties of the last century. In 1747 the Rev. Michael Schlatter visited Ziegel Church on his missionary traveles to the German Reformed congregations of PA, also Maxatawny in Oley, and Egypt in Whitehall. The Ziegel, then called Macungie, and Allemange (Ebenezer, the congregation in Kistler's Valley, was a Lutheran church), and Schmalzgas (the congreation of Salisbury township) were classed by Schlatter as the 12th pastoral charge. In 1749 the congregation met and resolved to build their first church. July 29, 1750, the church was dedicated by the Rev. Phillipp Jacob Michael, Reformed minister, Rev.
