    3. Berks County-Huber Frederick Huber, father of Henry lived and died in Germany. He and his wife had a large family, 15 of them living to maturity, namely; Lizzie, Frederick, of NJ., Augustus of Paris, France, Henry, Mary, Gustave of Germany, Gottlieb, William, and Charles of St. Louis., Fredericka, Minnie of Leipsic, Saxony, John, Paris, France, Ernst, Theodore, of Germany and three others that died in infancy. Henry Huber, stone cutter, came to this county in 1869, landed in NY. Went to Phila, from Phila to Reading. He married Pauline Groupera and they had 3 children; Emma, who married Edward C. Haggerty, a Reading police officer, Harry and William Huber, Charles M., subject, JP of Wyomissing, PA, was born June 1, 1874 at Niantic, Montgomery County, s/o John B. and Leah (Muthart) Huber. Henry Huber, grandfather, was of Niantic, Montgomery County, he lived on the old Huber (Hoover) homestead. He married Mary Bolten of Montgomery County. Children; David, Jacob, Henry, John, Amanda, Mary and Elizabeth. Charles M. Huber, married Nellie Gruber of Stouchsburg, who died Oct 9, 1901 aged 26, leaving one daughter, Nelly May. Charles M. married 2nd to Lizzie Kunkelman, d/o Elias Kunkelman and they had 3 children; Paul, Minerva, and Marion. Hoover Hoover, Samuel S, JP of Penn township, was born July 28, 1870, s/o John H. and Elvina (Snyder) Hoover. John Hoover, the great-great-great-grandfather, in 1742 settled in the village of Reamstown, Lancaster County, PA. It is thought he is a native of Austria. His son, Francis Joseph Hoover, was the father of, Joseph Hoover, great-grand father to Samuel P. He was born in Lancaster County. He married Jane Keating, and they had the following; John, Joseph, Samuel, William, Nancy, who married Isaac Foltz, Margaret. John Keating Hoover, grandfather, was born near Reamstown, in West Cocalico township, Lancaster, PA., Nov 11, 1793, and died in Lower Heidelberg, Berks County, April 10, 1864. He is buried at the Corner Church near Robesonia. He came to the county when 21 years of age, locating at Maiden Creek. He died in his 71st year. He married Catharine Hottenstine, in Reading, 1822 and they had 5 children, Joseph H., 1823, married 1st Annie Reihould, 2nd Amanda Frees, who died in Franklin County, John H., and Catharine of Reading. The grandfather married 2nd to Catharine Berger of Reading, they had one son, Rev. Francis (Lutheran) of Lockport, NY., and he married Jennie Hedley. John H. Hoover, father of Samuel S., was a schoolmaster at Bern, Penn and Lower Heidelberg townships. He married Elvina Snyder, d/o Abraham Snyder. Children; Samuel S., Kate, who married Frank Backenstose, Prof. C. S. of Valparaiso, IN., Roger S., David S., of Fleetwood, Francis S., unmarried, Mary, who married Adam D. Bachenstose, Helen who married Thomas Dengler, John of Leesport, Jacob, who died young, and two that died in infancy. Samuel S. Hoover, married Katie Hain, only daughter of John W., and Mary (Henniger) Hain, of Wernersville. Samuel and Katie had one daughter, Mary E. Hoover, Roger S., subject, was born Aug 21, 1861 at Penn township, son of John and Elvina (Snyder. Roger S., married in 1891 to Anna K. Madeira, d/o Nicholas and Lydia (Koller) Madeira.     3. Hi, Geri: Just a little idle (3-day weekend) curiosity about the Huber family. Do you or does any other member of the list know whether the Hubers of southwestern Wisconsin, who founded the brewing company, are descended from the Montgomery County Hubers?
