Rev. Jacob Gottshall, who came over from Holland in 1702, is said to be the direct ancestor of all of that name in Montgomery County and surrounding counties. He was a minster of the Mennonite Church. He was one of the 3 translators, from Dutch to German. The date of his death or burial is not known. He preached many years at Skippack, and may be buried at the old Mennonite Lower Skippack church or he may be buried at Germanton.. Gottshall Gottschalk,great- grandfather, settled in Frederick township, Montgomery County, in 1781 and his old homestead is now (1911) owned by M.C. Gottshall, a cousin of William B. Gottshall. He was a weaver by trade, he died in 1824, left 2 sons, Dillman and William. William Gottshall, grandfather was born 1784, dying in his 92nd year. He was a Mennonite, buried at the Schwenkville meeting house. He married Magdalena Hunsbeger, children; eleven sons and two daughters, namely; William who died in Montgomery County at the age of 95; Dillman, who died in Montgomery County; Andrew of Collegeville; Abraham, died as a baby; Abraham2; Gottshall, who died at Schwenkville: Joseph of Spring City, Chester County; Adam of Northumberland County: Jacob, who died young; John of Phila.;Moses H. a Mennonite minister who died in 1888 in Montgomery County; Mrs. Jacob Umstead and Mrs.__Bergy (one of these daughters was named Elizabeth, and the other Hannah. Abraham Gottshall, son of William, was born in Schwenkville, in 1826, and he died April 1, 1901, he is buried in the Mennonite cemetery at Bally, Berks County. He married Maria Bauman, d/o John and Magdalena (Bauer) Bauman, of Niantic from Huber's Church. Children; Menno, of Boyerstown, Abraham, died at age 6, Rev. John, twin of Abraham, located at York, Milton, of Boyertown, Abraham, lived in Sunbury, Frank B., of Boyertown, Elizabeth died at age 40, unmarried, Mary who married Daniel Urfer of Schwenkville, Catharine, the wife of Harry Reigner, of Pottstown. William B., married Feb. 13, 1890 to Flora Reinhard of Allentown, d/o Israel and Josephine Reinhard. Dyer, William James, was born in York city, June 8, 1862, son of Jesse C., and Louis (Young) Dyer. Jesse C. Dyer, died at his home on West King street, York. He was a member of Co. H. 200th P.V.I. His widow survived until Jan. 24, 1890, both are buried at Prospect Hill cemetery. Children; George W., John of Baltimore, Annie, the wife of Dr. Samuel Wiltbank, William James and Mary. William James, married May 22, 1881 to Isabella A., d/o Michael and Caroline (Golden) Spangler. Children; Mabel, Wilson E. born March 9, 1884, died July 7, 1887, Edna May, Pauline. Mann, Enos S. MD, subject of York County. He is a native of Lancaster County, born Oct 17, 1865, s/o Henry W., and Anna C. (Seitz) Mann. Berhart Mann, great-great-grandfather, was born May 9, 1740, at the age of 8, emigrated frm Heiffenhart, Germany. He married Mary "Staumb", children; John, Bernhart, George, Elizabeth who married ____ Wormely. Mr. Mann died June 6, 1817, his wife died April 21, 1821. John Mann, their son, was born March 7, 1774, on the paternal land. He married Elizabeth, d/o George Snyder, of East Dongal, who was born Oct 8, 1780 and died March 25, 1870. Children;Elizabeth, Sophia, Catharine, Barbara, Sarah, John S., George. Members of the Lutheran Church. He died Dec. 3, 1843. Their son, Bernhart S., was born Aug 20, 1803. On March 8, 1827, he married Anna Wertz, born Dec. 23, 1805. Children; Mary Ann, Margaret S., Anna M., Simon B., Henry W., and Caroline C., Mr. Mann died April 15, 1880 and his wife died Jan 12, 1881. Henry W., was born June 14, 1829, he married Anna Charles Seitz, Nov. 19, 1856. Children; Amos, Jacob, Eli, George, Henry, Enos S., Simon and Hiram. On the maternal side,the Dr. is the great-great-grandson of Jacob Seitz, who came to America from the Palatinate (Rhenish, Bavaria) Germany in 1764, settled in Manor township, Lancaster County. He married Elizabeth Witmer, d/o Michael Witmer, who came from Germany in 1732 and settled in Manor township. Children; John,who married Annie Garber Henry, Michael, Jacob, Abraham, Veronica, Barbara, Catharine, Magdalena, Anna, and Elizabeth On June 19, 1901, Dr. Mann married Mary Ann Fulton, of Muddy Creeks Forks. They had 3 sons, Enos Harold, Horace Fulton, and Bernard Fulton, born March 22, 1901. Mrs. Mann was the youngest daughter of James and Mary Ann (Webb) Fulton.
