Where is Spring Mills??? Thanks Nancy
Hi, Nancy: The ZIP Code for Spring Mill (no "s," as far as I can tell) is 19428, same as Conshohocken, although Spring Mill is a separate town in the township of Whitemarsh. It is almost contiguous with the southeast corner of the borough of Conshohocken, at a prominent bend in the Schuylkill River. In the 1877 Combination Atlas Map of Montgomery County (J.D. Scott of Philadelphia, publisher), Spring Mill is said to have "in 1858 contained 2 hotels, 2 stores, 3 furnaces, a grist-mill, several machine shops and 50 dwellings." (page 29) The biggest landowners were Sampson, Houston, Righter, Freas, Ely, Comfort, and Lentz. The population in the 1980s was around 300. Maybe a local lister can give us a more accurate population estimate.
