Hi List, I have a question concerning probate records. I have searched in two courthouses for estate records and copied several wills and other estate papers. Usually there is a statement filed by the executor of the estate, which I assume is done so that he can begin his job of executing the will. What I want to know is: Are their follow up forms filed after the executor has distributed the assets of the deceased? Would such records include papers signed by inheritors, stating that they received "such and such"? If not, how do I find out the actual distribution of the property of the deceased? In some files - very old ones- I saw actual lists of items owned and the value or price received. But I have seen nothing of that in later estate records - after 1900. Thanks for any help out there.
