I am looking for information on the Reynolds, Foster and maybe Barrel families. According to a history of Northumberland Co, Pa, my husband's Reynolds started out in Montgomery Co.: John REYNOLDS b.1776 m. Hester FOSTER b. abt 1779. Children: William N. b. 1779 Grace 1801 George 1803 Philip 1806 Eliza 1808 Henry 1810 Hiram 1812 William N. REYNOLDS b.Jan 20 1799 d.May 1, 1860 in perhaps Anthony Twsp, Montour Co, PA. He is buried at Warrior Run Church in Turbot Twsp, PA m. Hester BARREL b. July 28 1703 d.July 27, 1877 in Turbot, Northumberland Co, Pa. She too is buried in Warrior Run All the children were born in Northumberland Co. William lived for a time in Willow Grove, Montgomery Co. He also lived in Schuykill Haven before farming in Anthony Twsp. He also lived in Turbotville. William was an innkeeper, farmer and shoemaker. Any suggestions where to hunt for this family? I haven't researched in Montgomery Co and would like to make it my next genealogy trip. Valerie Reynolds in NJ

Valerie: I have Abington Presbyterian Church Records book from 1714-1864. There are some RENOLDS/REYNOLDS listed but no John. However I did find a marriage for a Hester FOSTER who married 5/23/1794 to Robert Davidson. Other FOSTERs listed are Rebekah, Thomas, Pamela, Mary, Julian, Franck, and John. Do any of these people seem to belong to your group? There was a Joseph REYNOLDS to married Hannah TOLAND 9/1/1796. Other REYNOLDS listed are Agnes, Robert, Sarah and Joseph. Also early spellings of the surname was RENOLDS - Robert, Hannah, Elisabeth. Also BARREL shows spellings BERREL, BERRELL, BERRIL, BERRILL in this church book. There is a Hester BERRIL who married Nicholas LARZALERE on 3/26/1823. Not to confuse, I guess there were more than one with your names!
