    3. Many times, if I'm searching for someone who was a very early settler in a particular county, I'll access on-line county history books at Heritage Quest. Heritage Quest has many books on-line, but you can only access HQ through a library subscription. If you are a member of a large public library, many times that library will subscribe to Heritage Quest. So, using my public library card number right in the comfort of my own home, I accessed Heritage Quest and searched for Tucker County, West Viginia, and here is what I find: (any book prior to about 1920 is beyond copyright protection, unless someone bought the rights to it later. Most of the county histories published in the 1880 timeframe are no longer protected by copyright, and many are being re-printed by genealogy publishers, just for your info.)
