    1. [PAMONTGO-L] Please help us with our ELLIS line
    2. Hi Everyone, and a Happy Mothers Day to all, I posted a note in late FEB re: my and several friends gggg grandparents James and Mary Ann (???) ELLIS, immigrants to the USA from Cornwall, England, between 1847 and 1849. I received several responses, and one man, Dick Mathews even looked up their probable marriage certificate index info. I purchased a copy from the UK. When I received it, I was a little apprehensive because James was listed as a grocer, not a miner or quarryman, and Mary Ann ROBERTS being the same age as James, when all previous info listed her as 3 years younger. The info below has been updated and is correct as best I know at this time. I have IGI info that James and Mary Ann had 4 children Christened at St Austell, in Cornwall. They were, Elizabeth, b. 15 OCT 1837, Jane, James, and William Henry. Their 5th child, my ggg grandmother, Annie Luxeon/Luxon was b. 26 JUN 1847, in Cornwall, but there in no report of her Christening before the family came to the USA. She may have been born on the pier, because the family next appears in the 1850 US Census in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, PA, with a new son, George, aged 8/12, and born in the USA. I think they later had another daughter, Mary. In 1854, James applied for US citizenship, and listed his address as Shannonsville, Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County, PA. In 1860, James and George were in the US Census, as residents of Colebrookdale, Berks County, PA. Where was Mary Ann and Mary? Yesterday, the mail brought me the PA death certificate of Annie. Lo and behold, it says her mothers maiden name was Mary Ann LUXON. In a way, Im glad, because of my uneasiness with the ELLIS-ROBERTS marriage, but now I need to ask if LUXON was/is a Cornwall name. I also need to check the IGI to see if I can find her. I do remember that the only James ELLIS - Mary Ann ??? marriages that I saw before were to CURTIS, HUGHES, and MATTHEWS, not even ROBERTS. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Bob Reifsneider Orange Park, FL USA
