    3. I am looking for parents of 2 diff HIGHs and don't know if related or not. 1) Samuel HIGH b abt 1813 m Sophia STRAYLEY, b abt 1816 in Wuerttemburg Germany. Lived in Phila when first 2 children were born per 1850 Census below: Pearson abt 1837 and Sarah abt 1839-40; and then Norristown where 2 children Henrietta and Henry/Harry S HIGH were born, and was a dry goods merchant. Biographical Records of Montgomery Co PA., by Elwood Roberts, pub 1904: Samuel High (grandfather) was a lifelong resident of Montgomery county. He was a dry goods merchant on Main street for many years. He died in Norristown at an advanced age, and had three children. The maternal grandfather of Samuel H. High was Samuel Lightcap. He was a native of Pottstown, where he spent the early part of his life, and later removed to Milwaukee, after his wife's death, and lived with one of his sons until his death, which occurred when he was upwards of seventy years of age. His wife was Mary Lightcap. He was a soldier in the war of 1812, and had a small family. Cenesus shows this: 1850 Census, Norristown Upper Ward, Montgomery Co Pa, image 42 Samuel HIGH age 36, carpenter, PA Sophia age 33, Germany (1880 Census shows born in Wurtemburg and age 64) Pearson, age 13, born Phila, in school Sarah age 10, born Phila, in school Henrietta, age 5, born Norristown Henry, age 8mo, Norristown Maria Edelman, age 22, born Mont Co Rachel Klare, age 22, born Phila Jacob Strahly, Sr age 59, cabinet maker, born Germany Christianna age 61, Germany Jacob Strahley Jr age 27, cabinet maker Son Henry, aka Harry S married Flora B LIGHTCAP per this: November 21, 1868 VILLAGE RECORD At the home of the bride's father, on Tuesday evening, November 10, 1868, by Rev. M. Gibson, Mr. HARRY S. HIGH, to Miss FLORA B. LIGHTCAP , daughter of Samuel Lightcap , Esq., of Pottstown. Samuel is buried in Montgomery Cemetery. Where is this cemetery and does anyone have any readings from it? Does anyone have info on parents of Samuel HIGH? ================================================================== 2) Benjamin HIGH born 1820 in Montgomery Co and died 3/7/1900 in Phoenixville, Chester Co buried at Morris Cem., m Elmyra HIPPLE of E Vincent Chester Co. no children. Was foreman in a mill ironworks - Death info for Benjamin shows he was born in Montgomery Co on the Riggtown site for Chester Co deaths: http://courses.wcupa.edu/jones/his480/deaths/rod-h.htm<http://courses.wcupa.edu/jones/his480/deaths/rod-h.htm> His will mentions several nieces and nephews and from that info., conclusion that his siblings were Angeline b c1817 m unk. MOYER, Elizabeth c1819 m Isaac WILLAUER, George c1826-1830 m Mary A, Charlotte c1830 m John F SNYDER, and Mary HIGH c1834 m unk HUGHES. Does anyone know of a family of HIGH in Montgomery Co with these children? Thanks anyone for any info on these 2 HIGHs! Diana in AL
