Christian Mattis <1750 - 1772 arrived in Philadelphia in 1750 on Ship Two Brothers married Maria Magdalena Conrad 1736 to after 1792 Christian Mattis, 1758 to after 1840, married Sarah Hallman 1754-1823 Christian Mattis, 1790-?, married Mary Brower ?-? Abraham Mattis, 1824-1912, married Rosanna Carr, 1826-1894. The spelling of the immigrant Mattis is also seen as Matheis, Matthes, Matthies, depending on the document, especially in the German Church records and on the ship passenger list. I am most interested in the immigrant Christian and the women Mary Brower, and Rosanna Carr. Have info on Sarah Hallman's family and the Conrad line. Christine Gray

Hello to everyone in PAMONTGO! My name is Fred McCarty and I currently live in the Tidewater area of Virginia. I was born and raised in Norristown,MONTGO, Pa. After retiring from the Navy we settled in the Tidewater area. All of my immediate family live in the area also -- (3) children, (5) grandchildren, hence this is home now. However, my roots are in Montgomery Co.. Pa. and there is a lot I do not know about my ancestors, maternal and paternal, therefor I'm searching my grandparents surnames MCCARTY & RUBERY. Both sets of grandparents live in Norristown in the early 1900s. I never knew my grandmothers and both grandfathers had passed away by the time I entered elementary school. My ggrandparents are a complete mystery to me except for the word of mouth knowledge that McCarty came from Ireland and Rubery came from UK Oh, yes RUBERY spent some time in an orphanage in England and later served as an indentured servant to a cabinet maker. I'm relatively new at Genealogy (3 mos.) I look forward to learning from the expert knowledge and experience of the folks on this list. I hope to progress to the point where I may be of service to others in this same capacity. Sincerely, Fred Awktc@aol.com

One lived in Bristol Twsp, and one in Warminster Twsp. I have no idea which is which. One had a daughter, Elizabeth, who marr Isaac Rutherford abt 1800. It turns out they were not the family I was looking for so I didn't pursue the line. Good luck. Diane

Sorry, I forgot the date, 1868 for the Ironworkers Savings F & L Assoc. Thank you again. Annie
Hello, Can anyone tell me anything about the Ironworkers Svg. F. & L. Assoc. located in Montgomery County? Thanks all, Annie
"I feel sure that Yerger is NOT a form of Yeager, and my info only is on Yeager/jager, etc." In immediate families this may well be a correct statement, but if you use census data in any form whatsoever, a variation like this must be considered! I've had to go back too many times trying to figure out what a census taker thought he heard someone say. Edie
