But I've found nothing to support that idea. The ENGARDS married REDHEIFFERS who in turn married RITTENHOUSE who in turn married CASSELS (I believe). The LUKENS were living, playing around the ENGARDS as Joseph LUKENS got a Mary ENGARD pregnant and he was charged with bastardy. I am not accusing the LUKENS, just abstracting a court document. For all we know, Mary messed with him. I haven't identified that Mary. Nor do I know if the male child lived and what surname he went by. Thanks for inquiring, Lea. Gerre

    1. [PAMONTGO-L] FITZWATER, etc.
    2. Susan, YESTERDAY'S PEOPLE has several pages regarding Jacob FITZWATER. I know there is a small cemetery (somewhere?) in Montgomery Co. that holds FITZWATERS. We were never able to find it, but one of the girls at the Upper Dublin Library knows the location. LIPPENCOTTS are all over NJ - or so it seemed to us when we were there. Hope this helps. 2. As hard as I try, I cannot force a family connection of AIMANs to ENGARDs. George AIMAN apparently had some money and appears to have been owed some money when he died - per an estate file in 1823 in which Arnold Aiman and George Aiman are "executors". If I am interpreting this correctly, "by cash paid", the following owed the estate (or did the estate owe them?): James H. WEBB Henry HAUPT William FRATT John KATZ Andrew WILLIAMS John KATZ (KRATZ?) Joseh EVERHART John WENTZ John PRIDEFONTEIN???? John SHOEMAKER Barbara AIMAN (George's wife?) John Y. HENK Doctor George MARTIN Frederick DETWEILER Garret CLEMMER ??? Henry DAVIS John AIMAN George DUNNET John HENK James WINNARD Bickley OSon John SCHLATER William BURK John REIFF John BARNET Jonathon SCOUT George MCCLELLAND Zacariah NEWMAN Mentioned in other part of document: George M. 1. [PAMONTGO-L] HAUPT, REDHEFER, LOUER, READ/REED, PARKER, ENGARD
    2. 1801 - August Session, Montgomery Co. - Jacob HAUPT is witness to a document whereby Charles REDHEFFER is charge with beating, wounding, and ill treating Jacob ENGARD. Other witnesses: Jacob Engard, Philip READ, Samuel PARKER, Susanna ENGARD, Mary ENGARD. However, another document, same date, charges that Jacob ENGARD did beat, wound, & ill treat Charles REDHEFFER. Witnesses: Charles REDHEIFFER, Wartman/Hartman LOUER, Andrew REDHEEIFER, Samuel REDHEIFER, Jesse REDHEIFER. It sounds to me like to guys got in a bad fight and no one was willing to admit he started it. These REDHEIFFERs appear to be the sons of Andrew Redheiffer Jr. and brothers to Anna Maria Redheiffer who married Peter Engard the first cousin of the above Jacob ENGARD who was son of Jacob. The above mentioned Philip REED was probably the brother-in-law of Jacob who was in the fight. I'm not familiar with LOUER or PARKER names. Gerre Engard Byrd

    3. Hello Gerre, I'll do the particulars for you: "Yesterday's People, The Upper Dublin Story" by Suzanne Hilton. It can be purchased at the Upper Dublin Public Library for $5 or send $6 to them at: 805 Loch Alsh Ave., Fort Washington, Pa; 19034. ...and they'll mail it to you. Phone #215-628-8744.; (This is the umpteenth time I've posted notice of this booklet; hope the library doesn't mind the extra publicity, but it is a very useful little book).
