    2. Cathy Berger
    3. Sorry. That was a bad slip on my part. Michael Stein m Rebecca Zimmerman in 1797 and died in Roaring Creek area 1800. I am interested in the Michael Stein who previously to that married Catherine Brobst/Probst, and who is read out of the will of her uncle and guardian Valentine Probst/Brobst. I want to know if this Michael and Catherine had children and if so who. Also if Catherine died before 1797 so that i might be dealing with 2nd marriage. Michael Stein's family was from Richmond twp, Berks Co, but I have references to him being in Lehigh Co. If any info is given about Michael's parents, I'd be glad to add that to my Stein file. I already have the info from the Lehigh Co Hist Book. There seem to have been many Steins in Lehigh so don't bother with any name other than Michael. And thanks so much for checking out those two books for me. 1. [PAMONTGO-L] Davis Births
    2. Diane, You mentioned in your post that you have John T. Humphrey's book "Montgomery County Births, 1682-1800". I have a very common name, but particular families with no dates yet for any of the births. I'd be grateful if you could check for them. Thomas DAVIS & wife Elinor ? had children Thomas, David, Elinor (m Jones) and Elizabeth (m Gordon). They were in Hatfield Montgomery county possibly as early as 1724, definitely by 1740. I don't know where they came from. Thomas died in 1777 and the girls were married, so births would be mid-1700's, anywhere in Phila general area. David DAVIS m Elizabeth ? and had children John, Thomas, Henry, Archibald, David, Elizabeth (m Abraham Garner) and Mary. Of David's children, all except John were minors in 1815, when guardians were appointed for them. Thomas DAVIS (wife unknown) had children John, David, James, Eleanor (m Peter BURK), Thomas, Isabella (m John HARTZLE), Margaretta. All of these children were adults in father's estate settlement of 1815. Both men died in 1815, and their estate records and property were in Hatfield Twp, Montgomery Co. Thanks in advance, Edie

Sue, Horsham and Moreland (or the Manor of Moorland) have been part of Montgomery Co since Montgomery Co was created in 1784. Before that they were part of Philadelphia Co. The courthouse for Montgomery Co is in Norristown.Sorry I don't have the address but I am sure it is on the Web. You said you were looking for Parry. There are many Parry births listed in John T. Humphrey's book "Montgomery County Births, 1682-1800". There are too many to list them all but I would be happy to look some up for you. Diane

    1. [PAMONTGO-L] Need a Look up
    2. Ivana E.
    3. I was wondering if anyone is going to their historical society? If so can you do a look up for me? I'm trying to find information on my 3rd great Grandfather CORNELIUS FIRING. He was born on 6/26/1840 and d. 5/20/1900. HIs fathers name was William FEIRING and mothers name was Margaret SPOHN. I need someone to look up in the Christ Oley Lutheran Church, Oley Twp. Berks Co. Book. I have Cornelius's Baptismal Date, but I dont know anything on his parents. Cornelius wasn't living with his parents in the 1850 Census. So I dont know what happened to his parents. Perhaps something in that book will give me an answer as to who and what happened to Cornelius Firing's parents. My family and other researchers that I have found online tell me that Cornelius was the last chief of his tribe. However, no proof of this has been found yet. The Census records list Cornelius as a white man. SO i'm a little stumped. There are tons of different spellings for this surname, so i'm only going to mention a few. These are: FEIRING, FIERING, FIRING, FIREING, FEYRING, FEYERING, FEURING, ETC. Any help would be appreciated. 1. Re: [PAMONTGO-L] SPOHN SURNAME
    2. Ivana E.
    3. valarie, Thanks for emailing me..Yes the surname SPOHN is very difficult. I was trying to put a relation to my 4th ggrandmother Margareth Spohn and a Jeremiah Spohn who my 3rd ggrandfather was living with in 1860. However, I have not come up with anything yet. Yet alone, I can't figure out what happened to my 4th ggrandparents. I have been collecting tons of data online, and adding it to my family tree maker program. They may be unrelated, but one never knows when that unrelated person winds up being related right? I am totally stumped. My family and other researchers online have told me that my 3rd ggrandfather was Native American. I haven't been able to find any article that they claim is in the news papers to prove that fact. When I trace his surname which is Firing, Firing comes from Norway and Spohn is German. I'm trying to figure out how could he have been native american. I have tons of information on him now, but none of it is making any sense to me. I guess if he is listed white, he is white. KNow what i mean :)..Anyway keep me posted on how things are going on your spohn line, and if i find anything I'll let you know.
