    2. Lynne K Ranieri
    3. Hello Holly, My ancestors, too, moved from Pennsylvania t Trenton, NJ, so I am doing a bit of research in both places. When I saw your query about the Knotts, Fargos and Smiths, I went to the following Web site: http://skyscraper.fortunecity.com/raytrace/343/ and looked up the names in the 1920 directory. I only looked up Fargo and Knott and noted that Charles Fargo was listed as a bookkeeper and living at one address while Lillian was also listed as a bookkeeper and living at another. Perhaps they both worked as bookkeepers at the same firm, but they don't seem to have been married then. Lynne HollyKnott@aol.com wrote: > > Hi all, > > This is a shot in the dark but worth a try. 1. [PAMONTGO-L] Upgrade of Family Search Files
    2. Diana Quinones
    3. Here is a message from FIGS@ldschurch.org (FIGS FHD) dated Wed, Nov 17, 1999 that I received regarding the FamilySearch feedback form which I sent on 11/12/99. Thank you for using the FamilySearch Internet web site. We appreciate your feedback. Your inputs help us plan changes and correct errors on the site but we normally cannot provide individual help with your problems. Please use the Help and FAQ sections of the site to resolve problems. The following general information may also prove helpful. On November 5 FamilySearch Internet began an upgrade of our web site. Included in this upgrade will be new features, improved functionality and access to additional data. This upgrade is being implemented in stages through the end of the year. We are still implementing new data indices supporting these new features and there may be times when certain data is not available during this upgrade period. Any *missing* data should be accessible again shortly. Also, some of these upgrades require the *javascript* features of your web browser. The immediate result is that users with an older version of web browser may now find that some of our site features no longer work for them. Others with javascript enabled browsers should be pleased with the new features. Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 & 5 and Netscape Communicator 4 are javascript enabled browsers. Only a small percentage of our users should experience javascript problems. However if you fall into this group, we understand that this may be a major problem for you. We try to maintain compatibility with older, low-usage browsers, but unfortunately, if we are to improve the site usefulness, this is not always possible. If you experience such problems, we would suggest that you upgrade to a more current version of browser that supports javascript. Browser upgrades are free for Netscape Communicator, Microsoft Internet Explorer and AOL users and can be downloaded from their web sites. Unfortunately, some older computers may not accept these browser upgrades because of memory, disk or operating system deficiencies. Please do not respond or send feedback or questions to the email address. This address is used for automatic outgoing responses only. All feedback or questions to FamilySearch Internet must be submitted through the FEEDBACK feature provided on the web site. Your message to us sent on 11/12/99 1:52:10 AM was:    "WEBTV users can't upload 4.0 browsers and are now precluded from searching your files. What can we do?" Diana

    1. [PAMONTGO-L] LDS expansion
    2. Diana Quinones
    3. I just received this information and wanted to pass it on, this is all I know... If you want to know more -go to the link or call the LDS Family History Dept. LDS CHURCH GENEALOGY WEBSITE GROWING See http://www.sltrib.com/1999/nov/11161999/utah/47672.htm <a href="http://www.sltrib.com/1999/nov/11161999/utah/47672.htm">Link</a> The LDS Church has announced the addition of another 240 million records to its already-popular genealogy website at http://www.familysearch.org - there are now more than 640 million records available at the site. The new names come primarily from Western Europe, Scandinavia and Mexico. Additional expansion is planned: "FamilySearch should realize its goal of providing full access to the church's massive International Genealogical Index -- some 320 million names alone -- by the end of the year." And next year the site will include a Pedigree Resource File , a database of information submitted by visitors to the website. PEDIGREE RESOURCE FILE DATABASE RELEASED See http://www.desnews.com/cgi-bin/libstory_reg?dn99&9911150026   <a href="http://www.desnews.com/cgi-bin/libstory_reg?dn99&9911150026">Link</ a> The LDS Church has announced a new 5-CD set of information that provides even more help to genealogists. The "Pedigree Resource File" contains the personal family history records submitted through the "Preserve" function of the popular FamilySearch Internet Genealogy Service. The important difference between this information and previous compilations is that the information includes the submitter's name and research notes, and no attempt is made to combine submissions from different people. A user of this product will be able to see the information compiled by others, be able to note and resolve discrepancies, and contact the submitters. Diana

    3. ALL WEBTV users: I am displaying a  message I received from webtv.net dated Mon, Nov 15, 1999, 2:23pm as a result of the FAMILYSEARCH changes made last weekend: 'Subject: Re: [Web Surfing] FAMILYSEARCH.COM and 4.0 browsers [#10030486] Thank you for writing WebTV. The WebTV Internet Terminal has its own browser built-in, so you do not need the Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browsers. Since the WebTV terminal does not have an extensive internal memory, it is not possible to download another browser. The WebTV browser can view nearly all of the Web pages that Navigator 3.0 and Explorer 3.0 can. If a site asks you to choose from a list of browsers, and doesn't include WebTV as a choice, you should choose Netscape Navigator, as it is closest to WebTV's specifications. Thank you for contacting us! WebTV Networks Customer Service' For all the WEBTV users, this is information you may need when selection of browsers is necessary at other sites. Diana

    3. Hi, The Rehkopf's are an old Montgomery Co. Family. Some moved to Maryland etc. - Frederick Co. In WFT #2492 There is material on Joseph Recob (possibly Racob but think probably the former- or even Rehkopf althought I doubt that too). Would anyone be willing to look him up if they have the WFT disk? We are having great difficulty trying to sort out a very involved family. Many thanks, Pat Snyder
