1. [PAMONTGO-L] Mystery Man Who Claimed to be a Grove
2. He married in 1918 in WV using the name George William Grove. He claimed to have been born in PA in 1880. He married again in 1926 in PA using the name Walter William Wilson. Again he claimed a PA birth, but this time in 1887. I have been told by people who knew him during the period 1918-1925 that he: 1. Looked older than he claimed to be 2. Spoke with a PA Dutch accent 3. Seemed to be better educated than most people in that area of WV 4. Had a gold took in front 5. Did not display a temper 6. Could type 7. Provided well for his family I have no idea as to his birth name. I suspect that: 1. he had relatives or acquaintances named Grove 2. he was from PA 3. he was born on July 24 (He used this month and day more than once) 4. he disappeared from hos home area before 1918 5. he was born between 1865 and 1880 6. he was probably married to at least one other woman prior to 1918 7. he may have reappeared in his home area after 1930 I have considerable information and documentation concerning this individual and would be pleased to share it. I have pictures of him on the internet. I would appreciate it if you would click here The Robert O. Wilson Family to see the pictures. Do you see someone who resembles a person you have seen a picture of (perhaps in a family photo album)? If so, is he a member of your tree or an acquaintance or friend of a member of your tree? Does the above information fit stories you've heard about a member of your tree or an acquaintance or friend of a member of your tree? If so, please contact me. This person is my father and I have been trying to learn who he was for many years. I feel that this only possibility remaining for me to be successful. If you have any questions or a problem viewing the photographs, please contact me. Thankyou for taking the time to read this request. Bob in Atlanta

1. [PAMONTGO-L] Hipple & Miller
2. Hi!! I am new to this list as well as new to genealogical searches. However, I have traced most of the family to the 1800's. I am looking for information on Joseph T HIPPLE (1861- 1939) . He married Emma Jane MILLER (possibly the daughter of Absalom MILLER). She refered to herself as Jennie E HIPPLE (1863-1953). Their children were born in Montgomery county, between 1884 and 1899. They later relocated to Philadelphia were Joseph HIPPLE owned a candy store. It is possible that Jennie had a sister Mary MILLER (1859-1884) who married a THOMAS (possibly J Harbert Thomas) They are buried in the German/English Reformed & German/English Cemetery in Pottstown. I would like to obtain additional information on Joseph T Hipple and Absalom Miller. thanks for your help. Joan Frizzell frizzell@lasalle.edu

1. [PAMONTGO-L] Some YERKES... Please, How Do They Fit In?
2. Vincent Edward Summers
3. Chris Comly so kindly sent photos to me that arrived in the mail today. >From Davisville, Baptist Church, some are immediately identifiable as my family line. But others, possessing the same surname, are not found in my file containing YERKES. Can you identify some of these, and how they go back to ancestors? Courtland C. Yerkes and wife, Tillie N. Atkinson (If I am reading this right). Looks like his dates are 1830-1913. Walter C. Yerkes and Emily (H?) Yerkes. His death date is 1921 and her dates are 1869-1913? (Will need to use a magnifying glass later). John Yerkes d. Dec. 22nd 1884, I believe it says. Dianna Yerkes, wife of John above, d. Jan. 27, 1884. Josephine, d/o Charles and Mary Ann Yerkes, d. something 1870. Sarah Ann wife of Edward Yerkes. She d. Nov 11 something, being 16 years 2 mos and 27 days, and he d. July 29, 188(2?) being 75 years 4 mos. I suspect he was the s/o Jonathan Yerkes and Mary Ayres. If so, does anyone know the surname of Sarah? Jonathan Yerkes, though I know him, I have no dates for him. He was married to my Mary Ayres. Does anyone know his dates? Mary died July 24, 1869. Thanks for any help, folks! Vince

3. Noticed you're researching Schmitt's. I have a couple in my lines. Christian Schmitt and Maria ?? (no dates) had a daughter Anna Schmitt b. Jun 16, 1760 in PA, d. Feb. 26, 1841 in OH, married Johannes Alspach. In another line, I have Christina SCHMIDT, m. John Christian YOUNG (no dates) they had a daughter Anna YOUNG b. May 03, 1759 who married Cornelius LINDERMAN in NY. Anything connect? If you want more info on my lines, will be glad to provide what I have, though I have very little on the SCMITT/SCHMIDT's. Thanks. Marsha Linderman Ransom Robert Stewart wrote: > Am looking for the children of Andreas SCHMITT (20 Feb 1718 - 28 Oct 1805) > and Maria Catharina SCHMIDTIN (28 Dec 1731 - 19 Jan 1805) . 1. [PAMONTGO-L] John MOORE of Moreland
2. Vincent Edward Summers
3. In the will of John MOORE, it lists his wife, Margaret, daughter, Elizabeth Featherbee (the abstract I have misreads: Fairbee), and the sisters and brothers of Elizabeth in SCOTLAND, GREAT BRITAIN! Now I had John as being born in PA. Can someone straighten this out? Elizabeth's Scots siblings are listed as: Walter, Mary, David, Mulbargaret (Oh, come on! Surely *must be* Margaret, the name of her mother!) Thanks, Vince

1. [PAMONTGO-L] Jesse WILLARD
2. Vincent Edward Summers
3. >From The Learning Company, CD#209 (which I do not possess), I find that there is one Jesse WILLARD whose will lists a Benjamin YERKES, Anthony YERKES, and William AYRES. Now the Yerkes, I have sufficient material on. But this particular William AYRES, my mother's surname (and there are MANY William Ayres in her line), is apparently the husband of Deborah YERKES. I have no dates for William. I seek anything I can find on him. Here are the dates for his wife: Deborah Yerkes, b. Sept. 3, 1753 and d. Feb. 11, 1826. Married to one other husband, namely Samuel Ayres in 1773. This can easily become confusing. But it is William AYRES, alive and married to Deborah Yerkes, that I seek information on. Any help out there from you AYRES or you YERKES or you WILLARD researchers? He became the Guardian in the will of Jesse Willard, and so must have been highly esteemed by Jesse! Thanks, Vince Summers

3. Hello, I am afraid I know nothing of Jacob's JOHNSON family earlier than and other than him - and the fact that he was a farmer living in Frederick Twp in Montgomery Co. in 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1880. In 1860 a 70 year old female named Catharine SCHOLL was living with him and was still there in 1870. 2. Robert, I descend from Andreas SCHMIDT b.2-20-1718 d. 10-28-1805 and Maria Catherina MEFFERT Schmidt d.1-10-1805, through their son Andreas b.5-5-1761. Andreas and Maria Catherina were my greatx5grandparents. Rather than filling in all this space here (we do have a large number of descendants), it might be better if you just go to my web page: http://members.aol.com/meu1143/genealgy/index.htm On the first page is info about Andreas, then you can go on to the SCHMIDT/SMITH link to get more info on the other children of Andreas and Maria Catherina. My descendancy is: SCHMIDT/SMITH-> EMHARDT->KIRKPATRICK->HEIM. Ruth Esther HEIM married DeVon Walton FAHL, these were my parents. I've been searching for years for other descendants of Andreas, and am so glad to have finally made a connection! Let me hear from you again, after you've seen the info I have. I'm very much interested in knowing what info you have too. Mary Lou (Fahl) Kline
