Hi Ellie, I'm not sure what you are responding to. What is 38? If you can explain that, then I can answer you and be more specific. I'm so glad you responded, because I am working on a number of different parts of our families. Thanks, June

I am looking for my great grandparents. They are JOHN AND ANNIE MOHR. They had two children, ELIZABETH MARIE MOHR and ISAAC MOHR. ELIZABETH MARIE MOHR[LIZZIE] was born August 14, 1882 and her brother 1881, so that would make the parents marry about 1879. I thought it was in Chester county but did not find them, I tried Philadelphia too. Lizzie died in Phila August 20 1908 but have not been able to get a death certificate as neither Chester nor Phila have it. Please help . I have been looking for years. Thank you Jean Bates Almond
Lenore, I assume you were asking about the 1790 Census in Montgomery Co, PA, since there is no 1780 Census. In the 1790 Census, Montgomery Co, PA, Israel and several other DICKINSONs appear. Dickinson, Benjamin 1- -4- - Dickinson, Israel 1-1-1- - Dickinson, John 1- - - - Dickinson, John 2-2-3- - Column 1 = Free white males age 16 and up Column 2 = Free white males under 16 years Column 3 = Free white females Columns 4 & 5, not represented among Dickinsons, are for all other persons, and slaves. Unfortunately, the Dickinsons appear in the part of the Montgomery Co 1790 Census which is not broken down into townships. Hope this helps. -- Marianne mariannew@ncal.verio.com Berkeley, CA At 19:16 2/4/00 -0800, you wrote: >I need someone who has access to the 1780 census for Montgomery County to look up an Isreal Dickinson. Hi Everyone, I posted the following to the MONTCO list last Saturday, but only received one response, thanks Amy. However, that response did not actually answer either of the questions that I asked, instead giving another option to the second question. So, I am re-posting, not only to the MONTCO list, but also to the Berks and Chester County lists. Original post: I have a gg grandmother Annie Luxeon ELLIS, b. AUG 1847 in the Cornwall District of England. She first appears in the 1850 US Census, as a resident of Upper Merion Township, and being 3 yrs old. Also shown are her parents, James 35 (Quarryman), Mary Ann 32, and siblings, James 7, William 5, and George 8/12. They are also indexed as Born in England, except George, along with, I believe, an older sibling, Elizabeth, b. 15 OCT 1838, and probably working elsewhere as a domestic. I have two questions for the list. First, does anyone have anything else on this family? They have been particularly elusive to myself and a friend, (cousin), also a lister, who descends from Elizabeth. Second, does anyone know where a quarryman work in Upper Merion Twp in 1850? I know they used to dig lime in Port Kennedy, and there is a huge rock quarry on DeKalb Pike in King Manor, but have no idea if either of these were operating in 1850. A third option is available, thanks to Amys response. She says that they quarried marble in Conshohocken for the finest homes in Philadelphia, as well as Norristown. Can anyone tie add to this? Again, many thanks for all your help, Bob Reifsneider Orange Park, FL

Does anyone have any information on the Dickinson's, Davies', Jones', Morris' or Hamer's. They attended the Gwynedd MM and were from Gwynedd and Plymouth Meeting.

I don't have the family name information you note, but Plymouth Township is the base for my search, regarding the Jacob PETERMAN family. He was a blacksmith in that area in the 1760-80 era. He had several children, of whom I have a list, and his son, Joseph PETERMAN, inherited his land and holdings. Any connection you may be aware of would be greatly appreciated. Bunny in La.

Hi List, I have a question concerning probate records. I have searched in two courthouses for estate records and copied several wills and other estate papers. Usually there is a statement filed by the executor of the estate, which I assume is done so that he can begin his job of executing the will. What I want to know is: Are their follow up forms filed after the executor has distributed the assets of the deceased? Would such records include papers signed by inheritors, stating that they received "such and such"? If not, how do I find out the actual distribution of the property of the deceased? In some files - very old ones- I saw actual lists of items owned and the value or price received. But I have seen nothing of that in later estate records - after 1900. Thanks for any help out there. Could somebody tell me if there is a roster of Union Civil War soldiers on line? Specifically, I am looking for CURLL Union Soldiers, other than CURLL, Jerome A., d. 1/19/1862, 20th year, Co. C, 40th (Mozart) NY Vol. "A brave Spirit lies buried here. He died a glorious death in his country's cause" (G.A.R. Flag) (buried in Tredyffrin-Easttown, The Great Valley Baptist Church Cemetary). The only book in the genealogical section that they had at the main Miami Library in the genealogical section didn't even name poor Uncle Jerome! I also would like to know if there is a site on line that names Revolutionary Soldiers from PA. I already have CURLL, James, d. 8/29/1797, aged 19 years, Rev. War Casualty (also buried in Tredyffrin-Easttown, The Great Valley Baptist Church Cemetary). Thanks -- Phyllis Wilkinson, Key largo, FL.
The HSMC has a copy of Charles Barker's "Tombstone Inscriptions" made sometime in the early 1900's for this cemetery. The other early burials that do not have stones are not included of course, and that is what I need. The cemetery is now 'officially' known as the Merion Hall and Cemetery Association, 324 Righters Mill Road, Gladwyne, PA 19035, 610-642-5699, and the sexton is Orion Burns. He has records from 1885 to the present. I do not think these records exist anywhere else. I contacted the Oddfellows State secretary for earlier records, but they knew nothing about them. Also, the Methodist church next door knows nothing about any early records. Could someone please tell me where church records from the Falckner's Swamp Reformed Church from the mid 1700's to the early 1800's might currently be found. Does this church still exist? June wjyohn@gateway.net

Dan, I was told last year that the Montgomery County Historical Society has a book or list of graves from this cemetery, but from before 1910 or 1900. So you should be able to obtain copies from them (their address is on the Mont. Co. website). The folks I'm looking for all died AFTER then, that's why I asked for a lookup. I'm looking for KENDRICK and FEGER, who might be buried with or near the HALBERSTADT graves. I would like to hear from you if you are looking for any of these, and I would really like to know if you find any earlier records for the cemetary. Dan Miller >>
