Carole I didn't see a reply, so will let you know on the Lansdale Historical Society....there is a fair sized library there, but they are only open on Wed. afternoons. Probable that you would find most of the material at the Montgomery Co. Historical Society library, which I would judge to be about five times or more larger. Tried to get MCHS hours on their web-site but it's down. Historical Society of Montgomery County 1654 DeKalb Street, Norristown, PA 19401 610/272-0297 Don't forget that a lot of Montgomery Co. material is in the Historical Society of Penna. http://www.libertynet.org/pahist/ Open to members and the public: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. (no admissions after 4:00 p.m.), Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. (no admissions after 8:00 p.m.). The Society is closed Sundays, Mondays, and major holidays. Does anyone have the birthdate/place -- possibly even just the parents -- of Elizabeth WALKER, a wife of Abraham Lucken/Lukens, b. Sept. 16, 1703 in Towamencin, Pennsylvania? That is ***he*** was born there. The marriage, leading me to suspect the birthplace of Elizabeth, was in Gwynedd, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, on November 26, 1771. Especially valuable would be a source listed with the data... Thanks, Vince Summers
Hey Bill, Cora and my Grandfather were brother and sister. I am trying to find Cora's children and Grand children to help identify pictures and fill out the line. There was a considerable age difference between Cora and Grandpa and Grandpa died back in the '50's before I was a glimmer. So the families were not very close. If you know anything please let me know. We Know they had a son Billy and one Bob but we are not sure about this Linwood...He could be a third son or a cousin of theirs on the Bailey side. I have done alot of research on Cora "Beckman" Bailey's family and would like to share that with them. Her father Elias was quite a colorful man yet up until now he was a mystery. Hi Joy, The Main Line Times is the more rural newspaper and I believe located in around the Narberth, Ardmore area. Are you in the area? The phone number is 610-642-4300. If you are not in the area and want to give me the name and date, I'll make a call for you. If they have this information on computer, they may be able to tell you right then and there if they have it. If they aren't computerized to that extent, they could tell me what you would have to do to get a copy. Peg
Joy, I think you might find the obit in the weekly newspaper called "Our Town". Not sure it is still in publication, but it was until the early 70's. T.he Narberth Library might have back copies. Both my husband and I are natives of Narberth. Regards, Mary Deaves Joy or Rudolph Fulgham wrote: > Hi People, > > I have some family that lived in Narberth PA up until their death around > 1969. Mae, I have the 1790 PA census in transcript form. I don't see a DILBONE or similar surname in Montgomery County, but there was a Peter DILBOHN in Berks County. His household is shown as consisting of one male over 16 and one female. This is on page 40 of the GPO printed version, rpr by Am.Gencl. Lending Library, 1993. Carol
