    3. Helga, Here's Hilding in the 1910 census. I hope he's yours. He's a boarder living in Philadelphia. T624 Roll: 1391 Page: 210 SWANSON HILDING 21 M W SWED PA PHILADELPHIA 15-WD PHILADELPHIA 1910 SWANSON Hilding boarder 21 single b. Sweden as well as both parents. Immig 1909 and is an alien. He speaks English and is a laborer in a steel works. He lives with the family of Dr. William J. Wray (a dentist) at 1526 North St. This may be your Selma also in Philadelphia. T624 Roll: 1408 Page: 77 SWANSON SELONA 25 F W SWED PA PHILADELPHIA 38-WD PHILADELPHIA 1910 Selma 25 single b. Sweden as well as both parents. Immig 1904. Maid in private family. Speaks English. She works for the family of Henry W. Brown living on Schoolhouse Lane. I cannot read the house number. The Brown family had 3 maids. Because I know her name is Selma, it is quite readable on the image but I can see where the indexer might have misread it as Selona. Take the immigration dates with a grain of salt for, as you probably know, many people were unsure of dates at that time. I don't see any Edwin in the 1910 index and I don't have access yet to the 1920 or 1930 census. I urge you to join the PaCensus list where many volunteers willingly search for an answer to your request. The address to subscribe is: [email protected] I am sending you these images privately for your records and good luck. 1. [PAMONTGO-L] Cheltenham High School Yearbook Info for 1932
    2. I am still seeking information from a Cheltenham High School yearbook 1929-1932. I have already contacted the alumni to no avail and have emailed the School library again, but they don't have the books. If anyone has these books and can do a lookup I would appreciate photo copies of any or all info and photo copy of graduation pic in the 1932 book. Nelson RINK graduated 1932 played football and baseball, therefore he may be in the 1929-1932 books. Thank you for your time in this matter. Patti

    3. Robin, Do you have Sophia Wright's obituary. She died in 1889? While Sophia lived near the Pottstown Cemetery, it does not say where she was buried. Pottstown Ledger, dated August 29, 1889. 1. [PAMONTGO-L] Wm. WRIGHT 1855-1933 wants his family!
    2. Robin Kornides
    3. Greetings, list members! I'm looking for my great grandfather William Wright's obit. He was born in the "Rattlesnake Hill" neighborhood near Pine Forge in 1855 and lived in Pottstown most of his life. He died sometime in late Nov or early Dec 1933, but the microfilm of the Pottstown Mercury for those dates appears to have been stolen from the Pottstown library some time ago. :-( (so, if you go there, don't be grumpy when they want to hold your driver's license while you view the films; with luck, the one you want to see will not have been stolen) Does anyone here know if any other library or archive holds the Mercury for those dates, in any form? Since the Pottstown librarian didn't offer me the opportunity to view hard copy of the Mercury for late 1933 dates, I'm assuming they don't have that form either... His parents are two of my dead-ends; I haven't been able to find the parents of his father Henry WRIGHT, 1805-abt 1878, who was previously married to an Anna-Maria aka "Polly, " (maiden name unk) or the maiden name of his mother, Sophia, (1811-1889) who was previously married to one Gabriel KEPNER of Philadelphia. I've found Henry and Polly's children baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran in Pottstown; the transcript spells their name "RIGHT." <!> William was the only child from his parents' marriage, but he had lots of half-sibs: Henry WRIGHT and Polly's children: Catharine, b. 1827, married John BINGAMAN, of Amity twp, Berks, son of Benjamin George, b. 1830, lived in Wilmington DE, 1870-1895, may have wife and children Alfred, b. 1833, was a canal boatman in 1850, no info later than that date Jesse/Jessiah/Joshua, b. 1834, lived in Camden NJ 1870-95 and Wilmington DE 1895-1926. Henry, b. 1836. John, b. 1839. his wife may have been a Mary Ann KEELY. Susanna, b. 1843, m. Abner ROHRER, lived in Harrisburg. Levi/Lewis, b. 1846. not in household in 1850 census Mary ~1847-1926; m. William BAUM on Oct 13, 1891, lived in Pottstown. No issue. Sophia and Gabriel KEPNER's children: all lived in "greater" Pottstown area Samuel, b. ~1833, d. bef. 1889; m. Mary ? child: Emma b. ~1866. John, b. ~1835, m. Susan ?; children: Henry, Samuel, John J, Charles V, Charlotte, Sarah Maria, b. ~1839, m. a REIGNER, child: Irwin/Irvin, b. ~1875, possibly other children as well Amanda, b. Feb 1843, m. Henry M ENGLE, son of William P & Sarah (MOSER) ENGLE. Children: Joseph, Anna, Wellington, Jennie Charlotte ("Lottie") b. ~1848, m. Henry E LEVENGOOD, son of Henry & Sarah LEVENGOOD. 3. Sassamansville Cemetery: Genealogist said that there were relevant records at New Hanover Lutheran, but I could not find any in the published records from that church. We need primary evidence that Joseph Kolb (died 1892) is the son of Johannes Kolb ( Died 1877) . The Kolb homestead is in the hands of Bill & Joyce Heuer of Sassamasville, PA. The land records show that Johannes passed the land to Joseph. Wilhelmina S. Kolb ( died 1923) who married jacob Jackson Harpel was the last Kolb to own the land. I personally, have not seen this documentation. I need this documentation for a DAR application. Does anyone have any information on this family.

These were all Berks County events and it is likely that they were published in the Reading Eagle, Berks County, PA. Since you know the date of the death and accident you might want to contact the Reading Public library for a search of the Reading papers regarding the incident on or around that date. They charge a fee, but it is minimal compared to the information they may be able to provide. You might also look in the Berks County registry of deaths which might give some detail on the cause of death. The Pottstown paper on line at Ancestry.com is for the years 1947-1953 and probably would be of no value. They do have some articles titled "50 years ago", but even that would not extend back to 1862. The Pottstown paper on micro-film at Pottstown Public Library extend back to 1859, but there are missing issues. The actual paper copies they have in their archives does extend back to 1862 as I recall looking up a series of articles contributed by Levi Fritz in 1862, correspondent in the Civil War. Robison Twp., where the accident may have occurred is very close to Chester County, so there may be some Chester County papers that might have covered it. I wouldn't count them out. Betty >

    2. Just got this letter from Diana. I'm going to try to contact them, but does anyone know any more than what we wrote to each other???Just thought I'd ask the list if they had other ideas off the top of their heads!! thanks for all the wonderful help I and my cousins have been given on this dead end for us~~~ crystal Crystal, try the Pottstown Mercury newspaper.  That is pretty close to Robeson! I believe there are some issues on Ancestry.com but not sure if 1862 is there.  I think the ones they have are in the 1900's. But you could probably contact someone in the MOntgo Co HS  or call the Pottstown Library, I know they have issues of the paper either on film or microfiche.
