His son Johannes Hage married Catherine Frey in 1781. The record lists both their fathers as decd. Catherine's father, Johannes Frey, died before Sep 1778 when her mother Mary re-married Benedict Bucher. A search for these men has lead me to wonder if they weren't among those early German's killed in the Indian uprisings. I found the following excerpt at the PA Archives which give me hope that I may be on the right track. However, there are no first names given for those listed dead here. DOES Anyone know where I might find the full names and dates of those killed in the uprisings? *************************** GERMANS massacred, north of the Blue "Mountain, within Monroe county, among others, were: Guldin, Hoth, or Hutli, Bomper, Vana- ken, Vanflor, Schnell, Hartman, HAGE, Brundich, Hellman, Gonderman, Schleich, Miiller, Vandelap, Decker, Van Gondie, Brincker Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
